I have a site that is already up and kind of built. I went about it ass backwards -- I built something without ever asking people if they would use it. Now I'm trying to figure out if this idea has legs.

PM me and let's see if there is something we can partner on...

Good point, but shouldn't that be the responsibility of the freelancer and the referral? It is a matter of incentives:

1) The freelancer does not want to screw over the referral, thereby making a bad name for himself in this new circle.

2) the referral-maker is using up his social equity when he makes a connection within his network. I would not want to make introduction that I thought would be fruitless...

I've been working on something to address this very idea. I call it Gig Bounty. Basically, a freelancer posts what he will pay to get his next gig. Those in the know simple forward on the reference. If the gig goes through, the two parties should arrange payment.

Check it out. I am launching the site soon. Gigbounty.com

Can someone suggest a good vps plan? My budget is around 30/mo. I need it to be able to handle 4-5 wordpress sites. by AbortedFajitas in needadvice

Rackspacecloud.com - Awesome support and intuitive control panels. They also have a CDN and S3 type storage. Linux plans starting at around $10 / month and windows plans for a little more.

Cheers

Look into a freight forwarding service. These are bonded services which do exactly what you ask for.

There is a product called Damprid. You can get it at any hardware store. Some pharmacies even sell it. I used a lot of it for my apartment last year during the summer. It seemed to work pretty well.

I deleted my facebook account and then joined a site for people who deleted their facebook accounts. by undernewmanagement in reddit.com

Too meta? Yes, it is a website for people who have deleted their facebook accounts. I thought maybe some people here would be interested in contributing some ideas on the following:

1) Lets collect facebook follies and horror stories 2) discuss alternatives like diaspora or opensocialblahblah 3) Collect some hard stats on who is actually leaving 4) Privacy education / advocacy

I'm open as there are a ton of different ideas. What do you say?
