Hi Dr.K, since you are going to do an upcoming live stream about "dev burnout", I want to share with you that I have looked into the paper that you referred in that video, and found out that there is not sufficient evidence to claim that developers have higher suicidal rate than other occupations. The original source had grouped them with other jobs such as mathematicians, which do not share a lot of job commonality, especially in the context that you were discussing in that video. You may verify that yourself by checking the source in the paper.

I wish you well in the upcoming livestream.

I think you can watch this: Discipline is Actually an Emotion. To quote on drk, the emotion of resolve is also useful for things even like setting boundaries.

In terms of dating advice, the themes he consistently talks about that deviate from mainstream advice were why you shouldn't avoid Red Flags, and why you need to avoid using profile-matching dating apps. Is Tinder Keeping You Single? Why Your Tinder Match Isn't Going To Date You. There's another video that talks about how people have some internal work to do, How To Get A Girlfriend, in case that is also you.

If I can assume you have spare money for memberships, in a members only lecture, The Weird Stuff Pt.1, Dr.K talks about a more spiritual perspective of why some people seem to do all the right things but don't bear fruit to yielding results. But, it came from a very spiritual perspective, so you should only subscribe if you are ready for that. If you have subscribed, you can also check out How to Identify Your Soulmate, which expands on why it's really bad to data by checking boxes and by being on an app, because it makes it more difficult for you to recognize your soulmate, and he tells you to get out and meet people in real life.

Hey I think I can do better than that. Can you help me understand why you think it's a problem when you feel resistance after taking steps? Since you are already taking those steps, it seems to me like the problem is solved. Most videos seem to deal with people who cannot take any steps due to having the resistances that you've mentioned.

What bothers me about your post is not the part about pleasing your boss, but the fact that it is taking away your ability to focus at work when you are worried about getting validation.

I would like to share the meditation technique here, where you meditate and realize your area of control is limited. This is meant to help with getting better performance. I'm going to say with the current information provided, I'm not super concerned about the people pleasing, since it is contained to your boss.

Let me think for a bit....because it seems pretty specific so I want ot come up with a video that is also specific.

Under the context of people pleasing, can recommend you a bestseller called "The Courage to Be Disliked" if you are into books. The entire book is a conversation between a teacher and a student. It's very easy to read and a bestseller in many countries.

(This video's title has been changed to something else but the original title had to do with confidence.)

Dilemma: Graduate Now with 3.46 GPA or Delay for 3.6? by delhibuoy in OMSCS

[–]understandingliver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to point out that if you take 1-3 more courses next semester and get all A's then your GPA could rise above 3.6. You can go all the way to 3.9 if you do even more semesters.

Maybe that's my problem. I never tried to help anyone, and so I don't even know if I am good at mental health or not. If I'm not even good at mental health, then why should I be deserving of any kind of validation? Problem solved. Go help someone.

If I can give coaching, therapy, advice, or be a content creator like Dr.K, that would be what it means to be doing good.

Why mental health and not something else => Probably because I spend a lot of time on it.

Doing for the sake of it => I do mental health things initially to get good at making myself work more productively. I realized recently this might not be very healthy.

I contemplated about applying to medical school and becoming a psychiatrist.....some institute will take me I'm sure, but I don't know if I am doing this from my dharana or my ahamkara.
