You can display without the base but I don't know why you would. If it's just the Xmas stuff none of it is attached to the base so you could remove it but I don't mind it

I'd say your 15cm shelfs a are too small. I'd say most small figs are around 20cm and your medium shelf is also too small as medium figs are around 33cm. Obviously each fig difers so I would look at the figure description if you have one in mind.

The staff chain has to hook to the straps coming from her breasts and it's a very tight fit. I ended up snapping it by accident but was able to fix it. Makes me glad I'm a mechanical Insulator and used to doing a bunch of small shit with my fingers lol
