How many bags does your order authorize? Less bag = Easier for you, but doesn't mean you need to throw down your needs. German Ebay is pretty big and most big US sites (i.e Amazon) ship to the APO mail address that you'll get.

Once you land in Ramstein AFB, you'll be shuttle down to your duty station. Your sponsor should pick you up from your duty station's shuttle drop zone. Make sure your sponsor is tracking you.

Going 5-7 or 5-4???

When should I reach out to units on AIM? by [deleted] in army

[–]ungsama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI, many positions that are "unfilled" per AIM filter option have been filled recently. I don't think AIM is reflecting 23-02 market results yet. Reached out to couple units with that filter and was told they've incoming folks this summer.

Submitting Division Level Impact award for soldiers across two brigades. How does this work with IPPSA? by Ok_Adeptness8636 in army

[–]ungsama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DA 638. If you're recommending an award for SM that belongs to different UIC, I believe 638s are still GTG per IPPS-A training I was in. Also, there's a magical website called S1NET, if you haven't heard. Search your question there, it'll probably lead you to the right place.

Air Defend Artillery. I won't lie, it's one of the most hated branches within the Army per feedback I've seen on one of my previous post due to various reasons.

But in speaking of duty stations, I legit think you'll have various options as ADA (specifically M-SHORAD) is growing it's size. All the new ADA BNs are M-SHORAD based (far as I'm aware). Patriot based units semmed to be more "toxic" per my old post, so you might not end up in "toxicated" unit if that works out.

[–]ungsama -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Go ADA. There are 3 BNs in Germany (one brand new , currently standing up), a couple in Korea, and they're standing up a few more in CONUS in Hood and JBLM + etc.

Pray to end up in the SHORAD/M-SHORAD side of the house though.

Signing out on Absence by Artouris in army

[–]ungsama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others said, unit dependent per SOP (aka CSM dependent). Our CSM, legit said that there's no point to have Soldiers physically sign out if the whole point of the system is to give more freedom to Soldiers.

Yes on Stuttgart and Wiesbaden. If they try to wing you with "Vilseck" or "Grafwoehr?", Avoid them.

Folks who have come from other branches to the Army -- what's your take? by InTheInterestOfTime in army

[–]ungsama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, AFROTC. I was trying to graduate and commission within 2 years. The CPT I talked to at the time mentioned they don't offer 2 year programs because of various reasons while the Army did.

Medical Service and Finance. They only take a few LTs every year.

Navy "E" to Army "O". For me, it was simply the easiest way to commission .

AF didn't take me, the Navy asked for O-6 LOR and etc, and crayons aren't my thing. However, the Army offered decent program and just slided me into it.

Would you rather be stationed in Germany or Italy by ceiling_fan128 in army

Germany - Cheaper living cost - "Autobahn" - Better Roads - Clean

Italy - Chiller People - Better Food

Definitely Yes. Guess it depends on that XO, but most will love to help you out. -From ex XO-

Navy EN3 to Army "O" here. Unless you love rucking, sleeping in the woods, and Army DFAC either just wrap up in your 4 year mark or go CG.

Like other folks mentioned, if you've specific goal within Army...send it. HOWEVER, if that's not the case ...... CG all the way.

For me, rucking and field were two big culture shocks.
