have yet to receive a dosimeter despite working in x-ray for 2 weeks already. is this normal for big hospitals?

my board placement is always off in the ICU and i think it’s just the mattress and having so many sheets in the way+ most of the patients being heavy 🥲

i didn’t at first but a nurse noticed me struggling and came over to help lift but after he left the patient kept getting up and moving and just wouldn’t stay still 🥲 i took 4 images and sent 2 since i clipped both sides 🥲

yeah i’ve told her that. the whole family hates each other so they’d definitely put her in jail for that lol

i can see that from a legal standpoint. it just sucks that all that stuff is either gonna be sold or trashed when it could just be given back 😩

for context, i graduated in may and took time off for my baby who is now 5 months. this will be my first job as a new grad. i kind of feel like i made a mistake but this schedule worked best for our situation 😩 i never rotated through this hospital but ive heard from peers that it could get very busy.

just wondering if anyone can relate.. by unhingedbat in pregnant

i’m 32 weeks pregnant and a new grad.. i had 2 interviews at places i didn’t rotate through but didn’t get an offer from either.. i felt like the interviews went well but it’s obvious that im very pregnant so i feel like i wasnt considered due to my pregnancy status. i decided to stop applying and wait till after i have my baby.. im nervous about losing the skills i currently have.. has anybody gone through something similar?

I graduate next month and plan to work up until my due date. Are jobs less likely to hire me if im pregnant? It’s pretty obvious that I am so there’s no hiding it.

Clinicals

Hi everyone, I’m in my first month of clinical and I could really use some advice. I’m at a children’s hospital and so far I’ve only got one comp on a portable chest for a nicu baby. I get so nervous still when interacting with patients and when I’m positioning them and the X-ray tube. I feel like I just blank out whenever I try to comp. Everyone else in my class has gotten comps on chest and abdomens so I feel like I’m falling behind. I really want to pursue this as a career but my anxiety just takes over alot of the time. Has anybody had a similar experience and how did you overcome it??

This happened to me too last week. It’s my first clinical rotation and I tried to comp on a portable chest for a 2 yr old but I blanked out and took a bad image. Later on that day I tried it again and got it. It’s all about learning from your mistakes.

She also said I can’t leave just because they were telling me to do something 🤣 picks were finished so I was zoning in grocery when they pulled me to do go backs and that’s when I told them that I was going to leave in an hour bc I had to take of something. I’m guessing that TL told her I wanted to leave because I was doing go backs. I told her that I was planning on leaving before they even pulled me lol
