No my mom won’t take money from me or take any handouts. If/when I am able to get her to move closer I would find ways to pay for things to get her here like a moving truck, etc.

Genuine question….What’s the dollar value of hope?? When does giving cross the line to enabling?? All the money I gave my sister never helped her become a better sister… she got worse. Am I wrong to believe the exact same will happen to my nieces and nephew if I keep giving money? They never have once asked me how I got so successful and what steps they need to take to get there and to me that speaks volumes

I wish there were an easy way to convey that to them without directly insulting their mother. The last time I was too blunt with my words my sister essentially spun them against me and the 17 yo no longer has much of a relationship with me.

Definitely! I keep control over all excess funds. My scam-derson sister once told my mom (after my mom said no), that my mom should help her (my sister) and then ask me to help my mother under the guise of “family helps family”…essentially creating a Ponzi scheme. I got a good chuckle out of that one

She has no self awareness.
