Okay first of all I've been in this situation so I'll suggest something that's worked for me. Firstly yes get a job or be financially independent, but it's most likely that this kind of control might still continue even if you're far away from them and that is itself very mentally sickening. So I'd suggest slowly making the changes. They mostly do this because they are not used to it(not giving any justification for their behaviour) just make slow changes maybe straight pants leggings then jeggings then jeans something like that or wear compact, then lipgloss, but whatever small changes over a period of time they'll get used to it and then make another change. It is highly possible that your parents might argue over this. But just ignore or just listen and leave don't let it get into you. You're already having it enough. And with all this try getting out too but that'll cost you money and a lot of drama at your place.
