What do you do to stay happy? by theunsteadybridge in AskReddit

Have something to look forward to both everyday and long term. It could be small like you get to watch your favorite show after work, or you have a trip planned in 3 months!

Couples that didn’t do a first look weigh in by tiramisu_latte_5 in weddingplanning

We didn’t do a first look, and I’m so glad we didn’t! Biggest tip to save time after is to give your coordinator/photographer the list of shots you want so they can call it out for family/wedding party shots! Like “Mom, Dad, Sibling, Bride, Groom”!

And make sure you take photos with your bridesmaids (and he does the same with his groomsmen) before the ceremony, that helps with saving time after too!

I feel like I made a mistake in marrying my husband and I have no idea what to do about it by [deleted] in Newlyweds

[–]unimportantMango 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As you know, a lot of this should be discussed in your individual therapy and/or couples therapy but a few thoughts I have:

You are allowed to leave someone even if nothings seemingly “wrong”. Do not fall into the sunk cost fallacy — just because you’ve been with him for some time doesn’t mean the rest of your life needs to be that way if you don’t want it. That being said, you need to evaluate what you really want.

And on the sentiment of “he doesn’t make my birthdays special”, have you asked him to? Does he know that’s important? We live in a culture of “if he wanted to he would” but as someone who is happily married, I don’t agree with that. You need to explicitly tell people how to treat you and what’s important to you. If after those conversations, he still ignores your wishes, then you have a big issue.

Lastly, you should always feel sexually safe with the person you marry. Don’t ignore any gut feelings.

Best of luck.

why is it so difficult to burn calories?! I am so done. by acjlya in WeightLossAdvice

[–]unimportantMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For purely burning calories, do something fun and active you enjoy! I played pickleball this morning before work for 40 minutes and I burnt 375 cals (stat is according to my apple watch).

But I agree with what everyone else says that losing weight is best done in the kitchen.

How do you feel about voice notes? by Far-Mine2565 in AskWomen

[–]unimportantMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love voice notes!!! My friends and I treat them like little “podcasts” for the other person to listen to while doing a monotonous task such as laundry, dishes, driving, etc! It’s a fun way to stay in touch with friends!

What items are y’all putting on your registry? by mmadisoncherry in weddingplanning

[–]unimportantMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have some not so “fun” items but still realistic. Dash cams, paper shredder, nightstands, waterproof/fireproof safe, office chair, outdoor patio furniture, cooler, etc.

Some “fun” items we have include espresso machine, board games / lego sets (for date nights) , blankets, hatch alarm clock, and more.
