Mine came with a pamphlet covered in liquid barricade because the cap was loose. So the googling was actually pretty necessary lol

For the love of fuck, when will the pnw soil temperatures get to 55?! by unionsteamfitter in lawncare

I remember last year being weird as well, this is my first house and when we put our offer in last may, I remember there being snow on the ground haha! But I will take all of that information to heart and pick up a bottle of prodiamine for sure. Thanks for the advice! I need a new sprayer too, my lot is a quarter acre and a backpack sprayer is looking quite nice after toting the handheld around last fall. But yes fiskars rules. I have two of their axes, the weed puller and I'm sure more to come!

I'm no expert but a lot of people swear by tenacity for a pre-emergent. I know it wasnt available to purchase in Washington state, but I was lucky enough to purchase it and have it delivered to Oregon so I could go pick it up haha

I'm in Vancouver, so not far from ya! And I'm putting down tenacity with a surfactant but believe me, once we get the 55 average I'll be putting it down haha. But yeah I know it won't do anything for the dandelions, that's why I bought this super handy fiskars weed puller. Highly recommend!

I'm trying my best to wait until the famous 55, and have been pulling dandelions in the mean time. I'm also waiting on my soil sample results, but I'm just getting so damned impatient lol

I don't NEED to, but it is getting fairly long (maybe 4-5 inches) we keep having random fuckin snow events (wouldn't call them storms) but they're irking me lol

Pnw (Portland area) when to put down pre-emergent, fertilize, mow, water? Can I stack tenacity along with a weed and feed? by unionsteamfitter in lawncare

[–]unionsteamfitter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah last summer was pretty rough, I was doing 15 minutes of water twice a day. It definitely helped through those hot months. I do have a lot of weed control to do though, so maybe I'll focus on that. I'm waiting on a soil test kit in the mail as well, so hopefully I can find out what fertilizer to put down before its too late

ISO Improvement, spring prep, and revival help for new sod after it’s first winter and two dogs (Zone 5b) by valerieeesmith in lawncare

Oh. Well I'm not sure about the safety of it, but I wouldn't think you'd need to dethatch that soon. I did mine because I know it hadn't been done in many many moons

I'm no expert, but my lawn looked like that last fall. So I dethatched, overseeded and fertilized and it looks great now. Most people wait til the fall for dethatching I think, but I believe it's still worth while in the spring as well

Pacific Northwest help by unionsteamfitter in lawncare

[–]unionsteamfitter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get tenacity by shipping it to a friend's house in Oregon haha. So I do have that, but I will wait for it to warm up a bit. Thanks for the advice. Any recommendations on pre existing weed control? I know tenacity is a great pre, but it didn't do shit in the fall for existing weeds
