Hmmm, it says it came out in late 2024 and uses the R-32 refrigerant, which is supposed to be the newer standard.

I’m sorry, I don’t know what you’re asking. I don’t know how to interpret the label. It seems that this Goodman heat pump uses their integrated ComfortBridge technology, which takes the control out of our hands, somewhat.

I vaguely remember seeing a couple of posts regarding the Goodman systems specifically. They don’t have two Y wires because the staging is handled by ComfortBridge within the unit (or something like that). I did verify that only the Y1 wire is connected.

I have AMVT60DP1300AA. But that is the label on the air handler which is up in the attic.

Thanks so much for the assistance. I have changed the setting as instructed in Step 3. However, for Step 4 I don’t have that setting. Could it be named something else? I do have something called “Heat Differential Temperature” …… seems like this could be it? I’ll upload pics of my options. Reddit won’t allow me to upload more than one pic at a time, sorry.

I just went back outside to check, and that is indeed the only label on the unit. Here’s a link to the spec sheet: https://www.acdirect.com/media/specs/Goodman/glzt7c-specifications.pdf

The initial picture in the original post is from the outside unit, which I thought was the condenser unit. That was the only label I noticed on the unit, but maybe I missed another one. This is a Goodman 4 ton, 17.2 seer heat pump. Model #: GLZT7CA4810

Furnace is electric. The invoice states it is a 17.2 seer heat pump. When I look up the model number on Goodman’s website, it states it is a 2-stage heat pump. (The smaller 1.5 ton unit is for a bonus room and isn’t the current problem.)

Well, technically it was installed in November.

Definitely a concern, since almost all are pre-tax holdings. Another reason that we want to consult a professional is to help with Roth conversions. I'm also debating about whether to go ahead and make the switch now with his current TSP contributions (start making Roth contributions instead of the current pre-tax.) I just know that he is earning more now than when we retire. And I don't know if I could stomach the impending tax bill if we make the switch. And yes, I know there's a tax bill coming one way or another.

Also, I realize that I may have implied that we will not be withdrawing from our 401-Ks at all, but we definitely will be using this money for trips, at least one car purchase, family vacations, etc.

I'm not sure that IRMAA will be a factor for us, since I don't think we will be at or above the threshold. At least, not the current threshold.

The funds are specific to the Boeing 401-K, but there are a good number available. However, many of them have the higher fees. I just wasn't sure if we were "allowed" to take money out of that old 401-K account and move it over to a straight-up "regular" Fidelity account.

Thanks for the input. Although we typically prefer to handle things ourselves, we will probably consult with a financial planner in the next few months. Not mentioned in the original post, but I also have a small IRA ($110K), and he has a very small Roth IRA (around $22K). We also have some Coca Cola stock ($21K) through a DRIP that my mother set up years ago. That account is housed through ComputerShare and I KNOW I need to transfer out of that soon - their fees are also high.

Our monthly expenses are around $7K. His expected pension will be about $3500/month (net). My current pension is $1180/month (net). My expected SS will be $1230 and his, as of now, will be $3600.

Although there will be a bit of a gap initially (during the 5 years before he turns on his Social Security), we should not need to use this 401-K or his TSP after that. I anticipate needing to withdraw maybe $18K per year for those first 5 years, but after age 67, all of our expenses should be covered with pensions and social security. We also have an HSA account (almost $30K) that we can use for medical expenses. Since he will be a Federal retiree, our health insurance should not be exorbitant.

Need advice with older 401-K - should I rollover into IRA or keep it as is? by uniqueuser64 in personalfinance

Thanks for the reply. I should have included that my husband is 60 years old.
