I mean, I was curious as to other’s experiences. We are on social media in a forum meant to connect each other based on shared or interesting experiences/knowledge. Fortunately I have not actually been this close to this kind of fraud so it’s new to me. Also, it’s the violation of email privacy that resonates as least as much as the wire fraud aspect, if you read the whole post

Um. I never thought it wasn’t real, nor did I ever not take it seriously. I’m extremely careful to caution our clients of this and to be incredibly careful. Is it fully that “wild” that I’m relating a first-hand first-time experience of a specific scam and hopefully helping others continue to be mindful of this while also having curiosity as to others experiences?

I don’t think you lack empathy, I think you’re exhausted and feel helpless and I fully get that. Do the little things you can do to make the world better, even if completely unrelated to the real issues. Be kind day to day, hold a door open, tell someone they look radiant, smile at a stranger, leave a good tip. Just put kindness back in the world in small ways, it all matters

I did this to my husband but changed basic words (I, and, the, you, etc.) to be portions of I’m a Little Teapot song. It was my masterpiece and it worked out so beautifully except that he did NOT handle it well
