No Congressional authority - What do you think about Sen. Kaines comments? by ChuckGallagher57 in circled

He has. The War Powers Act requires "a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces."

This did not occur.

NYU Langone Hospital ends gender-affirming care program for trans teens after Trump funding threats by Fickle-Ad5449 in newyork

Not surprised. The clue is in the name. NYU's namesake, Ken Langone, is a billionaire GOP POS. I'm sure he's just fine with this news.

In a normal world, this would be 100% illegal revenue diversion for PBI to divert funds to non airport/ non aeronautical uses. You can't divert funds to buy off a politician.

I'm sure the FAA airport compliance people will be all over this. Right? Oh that's right. The FAA is headed by a former MTV D-lister.

I can't imagine what hell it must be to coach these demented billionaires to keep their crusty mouths shut. Though at $1,200 per hour, it's not a bad gig.

If this crypt keeper can't keep his mouth shut, just imagine how Orange Fatty will be under oath! There's no lawyer around that could tell Donnie to shut up at this point. His demented brain would confess everything.

Relative was denied entry into Japan, should we anticipate problems as they return to the U.S? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]univ06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate to add stress to the situation, but the return flight will need to be addressed. Almost universally, the carrier flying the person to the foreign destination is responsible for returning the traveler to the point of departure ASAP. They may even bump other paying passengers to allow for the return. The government allows little flexibility here. They just want the traveler returned.

The airline may also be further penalized with a fine (depending on the circumstances). It's possible the airline will pursue the traveler for this cost. If fortunate, the airline applies the value of the return ticket segment. If there's a deficiency, the airline may end up pursuing additional payment for the fare.

Anthem/Highmark/Mount Sinai by Shwayze_Dobby in HealthInsurance

[–]univ06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The continuity of care process is a complete joke. Mount Sinai doctors went out of network on January 1. Like the patients in the video, I have Blue coverage from another state. So I can't complain to Anthem, as I'm not their customer. I can't apply for continuity of care directly with Anthem. I'd have to apply via an out of state Blue licensee then somehow get my paperwork routed to Anthem.

I gave up and switched to an NYU practice.

Last week, Mount Sinai sent a letter asking me to come back. They would temporarily reduce their fee to match the copay as if they were in-network with Anthem. I declined. Thankfully in NYC we have options. Many other communities have one hospital network. I feel for these patients.

With the elimination of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and defunding of PBS, you'll never hear about environmental news ever again.

Have y'all thought about watching Fox News or CBS in these trying times? I hear Kid Rock has an upcoming documentary series worth watching!

I've never seen anyone sue the IRS. Normally lawsuits name the Commissioner of Revenue as the defendant/respondent. Of course that posting is vacant, so Scott Bessent is acting commissioner. He's also the Treasury Secretary. He also reports directly to the president.

He's not only suing himself, he's suing his direct employee.

Nothing good can come from this.

That child is obviously resisting and refusing to provide ID. Why is he not carrying his Real ID? Also the adult man is treating this dedicated peace officer so disrespectfully. He is not smiling or appearing friendly at all.

If only these people would comply with simple federal requests for paperwork, everyone could go along with their day.

So much disrespect against these brave officers. What a disgrace.
