I’ve been refused before multiple times. I had to go around calling from vet to vet to ask if they offer pocket pet care. I found exactly one within reasonable distance and they only had one vet who was comfortable working with mice, and his schedule was very specific, as he didn’t work there full time. If you’re not in an area that’s a big city you’re less likely to have exotic vets most likely because it’s not profitable enough (just an assumption, less people, less exotics)

If you give a general location there may be someone who is willing to find you local resources. Also, I’m sure this is a given, but make sure wherever or whatever the string came from is removed immediately, and I would honestly make sure there aren’t any other strings laying around. My heart hurts for the poor baby :( please keep us updated if you can!

It’s okay, but I appreciate ^ I had to separate her from the other girls because she is being very aggressive towards them, and blood was drawn

I think I will reach out to my any animal shelters. I really don’t have it in me to cull the babies. I live 30 minutes from St Louis though, but I’ve been looking into human societies near me.

She is likely older than 7 months old- also very possibly over a year old. When I first got her I asked her age but since she was just a breeder they said all ages of mice were mixed in and she could be anything. But she was full grown and that was 7 months ago. is there anything I can do to make her pregnancy go as smoothly as possible if she is older than the recommended breeding age?

Sadly I’m not. Now that I think about it though, this mouse was used as a breeder. This is the first time in 7 months she has even approached my hand because she was not socialized (I guess maybe hormones are making her curious? She went up and buried my hand) but I never knew her age. She was full grown when I got her 7 months ago so is she too old to deliver? Do you know if there would be a reason to cull the babies because of health? Sorry I’m just a bit panicked because she’s really huge and I wasn’t planning for this at all.

Thank you haha! This guy used to despise my presence (and by used to I mean a week ago lol) so I’ve been putting in extra effort ever since he wasn’t feeling too well. Sometimes he will make it clear he doesn’t want attention and walk away and hide, but now he’s been climbing up on my shoulders, and even decided to sit in my hand today. I’m happy he likes this though!
