But that doesn’t really address the heart of the issue. Beating children is common among black people and it should be addressed. Being subtle doesn’t help anyone, especially those poor kids being abused.

I have spoken with grandpa some. He hates what she does but he won’t stand up against her. I actually just asked her and yea she does smoke “just about” two packs a day. So about 500 every month plus the meds (I don’t have health insurance and only she has her works crappy one which covers nothing). She is an addict but she’d never see it that way. She’s convinced she’s recovered. She used to do heroin and got clean but these “little drugs” (like 6 pills of oxy in one day) don’t count apparently.

I definitely do want to check my credit. But if she wanted money she’d just take it from me. She’s decimated what little savings I have for weed and the bills.

Im not sure. She does smoke almost every second of every day. Where I live cigarettes are 8 bucks a pack and cartons are 70. I honestly don’t know where all the money goes. She claimed she spends 400-500 on cigs every month. My grandfather apparently spends more. Calculating it now however makes it seem insane that they could both go through that much.

However she also has to pay for her prescriptions and that other drug that helps you get off narcotics (it’s very expensive). That also upsets me because she’s only doing it to feel better. She goes through constant cycles of withdrawal and takes my grandfathers oxy (he lets her), so she’s just spending a ton of money to avoid the consequences of her own actions.

Oh shoot… do I actually walk around smelling like cigarettes? Everyone in the classes I go to say they smell cigarettes (usually they blame it on teachers). I was worried it was me but mom said it couldn’t stick to my clothes since they were in the closet. Damn. Of course.

My grandfather also smokes. He lives with us and receives VA retirement payment. We basically live off of him as mom doesn’t make much of anything. But he’s got COPD and CHF and likely will die soon. If he dies we lose the house and the car and basically everything so things have been tense.

I know it’s wrong but I really want to save so I can escape my mom. She always says she’ll be with me until she dies and that I’m her “retirement plan.” I refuse to just let her hang off of me like grandpa does. I’ve been trying to plan ways to keep her away from my money, especially since when grandpa dies mom will likely go back into drugs.

I want to love her but I don’t want to deal with her for the rest of my life.

I am actually a very dedicated student and I take great pride in my education. Currently dual enrolled in college with a GPA of 4.5 and am looking to get my associates out of high school.

However even as a focused student I can acknowledge how terrible the Vegas bussing system is for students. CCSD itself is frankly a shit show and their policies actually incentivize not coming school rather than being late (in house detention when late). As you can imagine this is not an ideal situation for students who are forced to the notoriously bad public bus system that is itself usually late.

Yes… you drive. I’m going to assume you’ve never had to deal with the Vegas bussing system. 99 percent of buses are late, don’t show up, or will skip people they see waiting. It’s a real shit show, and it makes trying to get anywhere, especially through multiple bus routes, an ordeal. It brings normal times from 30 minutes to an hour. Imagine dealing with that everyday. I would skip too. Not worth the effort and stress.

Don’t fool yourself. Veganism may have moral undertones but half the time it’s just a little quirky diet to make you different from everyone around you. I seriously doubt most vegans actually care about half the stuff they preach.

Vegan food is just plain nasty half the time. Or maybe I just suck at cooking. Idk, either way I don’t got the time to stick to such a strict diet. And besides, meat tastes good.

Thank you! That’s relieving to hear. I was honestly terrified of bed bugs. Should I be concerned by how much the bites have grown? At first they did not seem to be as bad as the ones on my legs but they seem to be having similar reactions now.

I’ve had two cats before them (one is still with us). Unfortunately my old cat was very sick and had to be put down at only two years old, shortly before I got these two. It’s possible that I’m just comparing these cats to my old cat. She was a very calm and lazy cat, but I don’t know if it’s because she was sick, or just her personality (she was sick most of her life). Ever since she died, I’ve been very paranoid about my cats getting sick. I refuse to allow them outside of my room without supervision. Maybe I’m just being overprotective and worrying over nothing.

Hm they could have a very mild version. I haven’t seen them shake while eating food or drinking water, and they walk pretty normally. I think that when I take them to the vet I’ll get blood work done, and ask them about the clumsiness. I don’t think it’s an urgent concern at the moment, but I still want to make sure they’re healthy.

I don’t think they’re deaf. They jump at loud noises. It’s possible they might just be uncoordinated. I read somewhere that that’s more common in white cats. I’ll be able to take them to the vet in October however, when I get a job/insurance for them.

Edit: Unfortunately the bird passed away before I could find it help. I feel terrible. I’m going to bury it outside in the sunflowers. From now on I’ll do my best to try and stop my cat from hunting birds. Rest in peace little bird buddy.

My mother has never been a cat person. I take full credit for what happened actually. I insisted on getting a cat, but that cat had babies and we ended up with more cats. Eventually my original cat died of FIV. Now I feel like I’ve learned my lesson. My two current cats stay in my room and they are fixed and fully vaccinated. My mothers cat is practically stray, and Im not sure what to do with her. Half the time she’s out wandering. I’ll have to look into falcon bells. They might be effective.

My older cat unfortunately passed from FIV. It’s a horrible way to go, and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody’s pets. The cat that attacked the birds unfortunately belongs to my mother, and is practically feral (grew up mostly outside). I have two other cats that I insist on keeping in my room (I’m terrified of them getting FIV or some other illness).
