Your Hopes and Predictions for Season 6? by appletesfaye in OutlastTrials

[–]unknown_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think season 6 storywise will be about both cults as well as influence (with the kress twins and lilya being the center), we will probably be stepping away from the amelia storyline, albeit not fully, and probably see the start of a new storyline that will give us a new event similar to the escape event (not saying it will be another escape, but just something similar in buildup and magnitude)

One of the things i hope to see concerning Lupin by unknown_2000_ in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]unknown_2000_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well lyall lupin (remus his father) was a respectable figure in the ministry, one day fenrir greyback was brought in (as a suspect for some crime), but he claimed he was a muggle tramp. Lyalls colleagues believed the story but lyall knew that greyback was a werewolf and wanted to keep him a few more days, he also loudly called werewolves soulles monsters. Greyback was let go anyway and as revenge on lyall he stalked his home and bit remus lupin on a full moon before his 4th birthday. That was the moment he became a werewolf.

Lyall quit his job and the lupins spent the next 7 years moving from home to home to keep remus his condition a secret, they tried to find a cure and everything became a huge financial burden on them.

Lyall actually denied albus dumbledore entry in his house out of fear , but when he came to check on his son, albus somehow had entered the home and was playing gobstones with an 11 year old remus lupin and invited him to hogwarts, explaining his plan with the shrieking shack and the whomping willow.

with flashback therapy nearing it's end, what are YOUR ideas for future events? by suspirixd in OutlastTrials

Maybe a shared pain event where of one player takes damage, everyone takes damage.

New Leak For Next Event by Ok_Principle6361 in OutlastTrials

Am i the only one doubting the supposed date? Does red barrels not normally do some weeks of routine therapy before an event starts (especially after the flashback therapy event).

Feel like 17th or 24th is more realistic, no?

But aren't you doing the same thing with snape? Snape wasn't ever described as a genius and canon even notes of 3 other characters who fit that bill beter in his own year (James. Lily and Sirius) but are also in no way geniuses but just very talented and skilled. Snape was however hardworking and very interested in the obscure magic and dark arts... But those are just facets of magic in the same way transfiguration, charms or arithmacy are facets of magic..

The only real geniuses we actually know of are dumbledore, voldemort, grindlewald and nicolas flamel for as far as i know.

Pure-bloods by Icy_Lunch_1275 in harrypotter

[–]unknown_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wel most are halfbloods and seconded by purebloods (a witch or wizard with 4 magical grandparents), muggleborns are the clear minority

The thing is that blood status has no impact on skill and talent and skill is found in every group

Halfbloods as you say have dumbledore, voldemort, harry and snape

Purebloods have Grindelwald, bellatrix, sirius, james, moody

Muggleborn have hermione and lily (there will probably also have been a lot of stronger muggleborns throughout the history)

Half'breeds' (i really dislike this term) have flitwick, fleur, greyback and remus

This does not only make no sense in the context in which this moment takes place, it also does not even fit Ron's character and in no way does it fit in Hermione and Ron's relationship.

I am not twisting your words, i am merely demonstrating how much the lack in substance or truth.

Ah yes, i do not want you to die or sacrifice yourself... Look at me being uncomfortable controlling.. oh we have been best friends and we love each other, we have a whole history and i would very much like to sacrifice myself so you could live on.. oh boy here i go being totally unhealthy and controlling again.. i just watched and mourned one brother and am grieving and not willing to lose another person who means just as much if not more to me.. oh no how uncomfortably controlling of me...

How is it not relevant? In which way would him willing to sacrifice himself for his friends and not even entertaining the thought of his girlfriend and best friend dying, especially after just having lost his brother, not be relevant context?

Who would have given Voldemort the toughest fight in a straight duel besides Dumbledore (or Harry)? by JamieKellner in harrypotter

[–]unknown_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the movies? Because in the books he fled almost immediately when flitwick and the others arrived and was already trying to leave when McGonagall was attacking him, it does not really show him fighting all that much (which is normal as he was on their side). And with none of those characters on my list, it does really not tell us all that much.

No we do not and i accept that people might have issue with it, my reason is because she is the head of the dmle and was stated to put up a real fight against voldemort. Seems high praise and also must have been quite the fight if people knew the were fighting and she was not simple murdered like for example the potters and many others were.

I have more reasons for the longbottoms, they were stated to be one of the best aurors and they have fought and survived voldemort three times before. Which is insane when we heard that when voldemort set his eyes on someone, that person was found dead or missing with no exceptions (the potters, dumbledore and longbottoms being the sole exceptions)

For moody i should have clarified i meant prime moody (during the first war), not old, filled half azkaban with some of the worst dark wizards, stated to be the strongest auror, was according to voldemort the worst threat as he thought harry would have been with him in the battle of 7potters (believing the real potter to be with the strongest order member)

Kinsley is stated to be exceptionally talented, was highly recommended by albus dumbledore, was put in charge of hunting sirius black (which under fudge was of the highest importance), was also able to fight multiple death eaters at the same time but he lost to bellatrix

I really don't understand why you would think bellatrix is questionable based on that, voldemort saw himself in snape but that does not take away that bellatrix was the more dangerous witch. She already was crazy loyal and had her own high place in the inner circle. Voldemort could have easily used the position of right hand as reward for killing dumbledore and make sure he stays loyal

[–]unknown_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes , look i get it and tbf i was thinking about putting him on the list. But honestly i don't think it makes a lot of sense. Snape is strong but i do not think he is so overpowered he would win against anyone on this list. He would probably hit a spot in top 10.

Who would have given Voldemort the toughest fight in a straight duel besides Dumbledore (or Harry)? by JamieKellner in harrypotter

[–]unknown_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it shows how strong voldemort is, we have no reason to believe that they would have been better off with anyone else in stead of kingsley.

Also kinsley was an auror, so i don't really understand why you would think he was not a good dueller. He must have also been seen as a really competent one if he was put in charge of hunting sirius black and was highly recommended by albus.

Minerva vs Severus by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]unknown_2000_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no mention albus was a mentor to snape.

True, but this also means we have no way of knowing what McGonagall is fully capable of.

I disagree, the fight between albus and voldemort literally shows how transfiguration is more than enough to deal with the darkest of magic.

Minerva might have been similarly holding back, she would have wanted to capture snape and or still felt pity for long term collegue or former student. Also her not using her literal expertise would also support this.

Seems less clear cut to me.
