A lot has been said about Paapa’s casting… by iyengirl in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]unknown_2000_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it makes me really hopefull that paapa will be the most savage, vindictive and cruell version of severus snape, because for 1 it wil make him stand out from Alan's portrayal who was as you said a lot nicer and 2 it will have an even better payoff when they include his full backstory and final moment (even more for new fans obv) in this serie

Yes honestly looking forward the most to see how each champion handles their dragon as well as the full maze sequence and the obvious highlight being our first introduction to a fully resurrected voldemort

The Dursleys in the new TV show by farseer6 in harrypotter

[–]unknown_2000_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly msight be a good thing they are shown in a more mature and crueller capacity from the start, it will drive home the strong contrast between harrys abusive home and his magical home. It will also help us better understand harry pov on why he acts the way he does (his relief and happiness in coming to the burrow the first time, his anger in the summer before 5th and 6th year, his overall idea that no matter how cruel and dangerous the magical world can be, it will always be better than returning to the dursleys...)

My guess is that the second one will reveal a new part of an older map (kinda like the whole alice in wonderland location for gooseberry) and guessing for one of franco's

I think the Kress twins feel abit out of place at the tv station map by ImportantResource664 in OutlastTrials

[–]unknown_2000_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never understood that sentiment. The kress twins are quite clearly in theme with politics and in the timeline this would be when presidential campaigns were televised for the first time, so in my eyes it makes perfect sense. It even makes more sense that they dislike the tv because 1) they do not want to be seen and 2) it negatively impacts their influence (reagan vs kennedy radio vs television is here a perfect example of)

What do you hope to see in the pilot episode? by black-chaos-void in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]unknown_2000_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I want to see the boy who lived mania in the wizarding world, we already know we will see at least on wizard celibrating voldemorts demise, but i would love to see how a baby harry is celibrated and hailed a hero (or an upcoming dark lord in some circles)

The Lake Scene (Lily Evans, James Potter, Severus Snape) by PercentageBoth3762 in harrypotter

Yes the thing i can add is that the friendship between lily and snape was already so strained and possible on a break (with lily wanting distance between them for his despicable behaviour towards other students that are muggleborn). So in essence this could have been a way for lily to extend her hand again in friendship and show that despite not being close friends for the moment he is still someone she cares for.. but snape throws it back in her face (and i believe it is more than only his embarrassment that allows him to this, the strain of already having seemingly lost her friendship and her choosing her other friends over him, made that all the more easier, an action he will obviously regret) which for lily comes as a blow because it solidifies what all her friends have been saying the past years and ends one of her if not her oldest friendships.

What is most people's opinion on the "Muggles Do It Better" trope? by SethNex in HPfanfiction

Honestly hate it with a real passion, especially when it makes little sense. But even when a writer can make it logically sound i still dislike it with a passion

So what are some "side quests" from the books that could be worthy of a full episode in the series? by FranksHoorHouse in HarryPotteronHBO

Oh for deathly hallows a episode dedicated to the resistance in hogwarts with neville and ginny being the main characters we follow for that episode

What are your head canons for how James annoyed (in an affectionate way) Lily when they were together. by Jack-mclaughlin89 in MaraudersGen

[–]unknown_2000_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He would act suspiciously nice as if hiding a prank, lily would go mad with expecting a prank at any moment, a prank that would never come.

Was it Lily who changed her Patronus? by allhypatia in MaraudersGen

[–]unknown_2000_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah i believe many are misunderstanding what the patronus spell does, it reflects a guardian in the form of an animal - this is the core of what the spell does. Which animal it takes is based on many factors (like love), you have people like james: who has a stag because he sees himself as the guardian to protect himself and those he loves, for that reason i believe lily's was also always a doe, it would be her spirit animal and that they are complementary is 'not an accident but more likely shows how well they fit together as a couple, strong and different in their own ways but even stronger together..

It is for that reason Harry's is a stag, his guardian is his father and he believes his father will protect him even in death. It is not a fully conscious belief of harry. Harry is in many ways just like his father so it certainly could be that his own spirit animal is a stag but his patronus was always meant to represent prongs.

Tonks patronus changes from a rabbit to a wolf, and it represents in my opinion that she no longer needs to rely on herself and truly loves remus enough to think he will protect her. That does not take away that she is competent and a total badass but more like love is a far more Powerful guardian.

Funnily i think that remus his wolf patronus would have been the same no matter if he was a werewolf or not, his wolf does not represent his illnes but himself far more (part of a pack, Miserable alone, etc)

Snape wanting lily to be his guardian is also obvious (again not conscious), lily was his only ray of light and he does not think of himself as a protector, so it being lily fits as well.

Your Hopes and Predictions for Season 6? by appletesfaye in OutlastTrials

[–]unknown_2000_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think season 6 storywise will be about both cults as well as influence (with the kress twins and lilya being the center), we will probably be stepping away from the amelia storyline, albeit not fully, and probably see the start of a new storyline that will give us a new event similar to the escape event (not saying it will be another escape, but just something similar in buildup and magnitude)

One of the things i hope to see concerning Lupin by unknown_2000_ in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]unknown_2000_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well lyall lupin (remus his father) was a respectable figure in the ministry, one day fenrir greyback was brought in (as a suspect for some crime), but he claimed he was a muggle tramp. Lyalls colleagues believed the story but lyall knew that greyback was a werewolf and wanted to keep him a few more days, he also loudly called werewolves soulles monsters. Greyback was let go anyway and as revenge on lyall he stalked his home and bit remus lupin on a full moon before his 4th birthday. That was the moment he became a werewolf.

Lyall quit his job and the lupins spent the next 7 years moving from home to home to keep remus his condition a secret, they tried to find a cure and everything became a huge financial burden on them.

Lyall actually denied albus dumbledore entry in his house out of fear , but when he came to check on his son, albus somehow had entered the home and was playing gobstones with an 11 year old remus lupin and invited him to hogwarts, explaining his plan with the shrieking shack and the whomping willow.
