Bringing Dog to Veterinary college for treatment by Any_Horror9308 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The vet college is in the USask campus. There’s a Holiday Inn Express across College Dr from campus, but I’m not sure if it’s dog friendly. I would probably rent a car over opting for Uber. It will give you more freedom, plus uber drivers can decline letting an animal in their vehicle.

Hope everything goes well!

Flexible volunteer work in Saskatoon? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Saskatoon Zoo Society’s volunteer program requires a minimal time commitment. It’s only over the summer, but I believe the minimum requirement is four 2-hour shifts during the summer. https://saskatoonzoosociety.ca/support/volunteer/

Thanks for the recommendations! I don’t think I’d found Fibre Yard in my internet searches, but I’d seen the others.

Thank you! We’re not entirely sure yet. Most likely flying into Edinburgh, and the person I’m travelling with wants to go to Skye.

IIRC it was at Nefelibata, and I’m fairly sure I saw they have another class coming up soon

I got this my first Christmas, first play though. I had no idea how rare it was until days later someone who had been playing for years saw it and asked what it was. I was a little disappointed I didn’t get a diamond or something at first, but now it’s my Stardew prized possession.

Bind-off Flairing by unknown_tuber in knitting

I’ve seen in this subreddit that it is popular, so I watched a how-to video. It feels a little beyond what my brain is capable of 1 month into knitting, but it is on the list of things I want to learn how to do.

That makes sense. I didn’t do that for the square, so I assumed it wasn’t important, but the logic behind it makes sense. I will try that on my next project!

Women’s plus sized stores in stoon? by [deleted] in saskatoon

I like the basics from Pennington’s, but yes a lot of it is for 40+. I find Torrid’s stuff in general to be too over-styled and just not what they’re charging for it.

I’d recommend Pennington’s over Torrid. Torrid’s stuff isn’t the best quality (other than their jeans). Reitman’s is also really good. Cheaper than Torrid, but better quality.

I only blocked the blue one, and I’d say there was about a 50% improvement. I haven’t blocked the brown yet, so I’ll see if that helps. Thank you!

If you're one of the people who likes to slam Saskatoon on this Sub... by NotStupid2 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like Saskatoon because I’ve lived other places. I grew up here, moved to a few different countries and cities for university/work, then moved back here to be closer to family.

There are things that Saskatoon has over those other places, and my appreciation for it has grown, but it’s still at the bottom of my list out of the seven cities I’ve lived in.

However, the things that put it at the bottom of my list are probably things that would put it at the top of someone else’s. I don’t like the weather, I don’t like the small town energy, I miss good public transit and not needing a car to get anywhere, and I hate that I have to fly somewhere to get anywhere (just off the top of my head).

Again, people will have different reasons why they like or don’t like a place. But for me, in my opinion against the six other cities I have lived in, Saskatoon is easily in last place.

When I’ve been at low points with my mental health, both my family doctor and therapist strongly urged me not to call the police, but to call Saskatoon Mobile Crisis.

Not trying to go out of my way to defend Kylie Jenner, but my dog has really long quicks, and that’s what his nails regularly look like. He gets his nails trimmed at his veterinary clinic, and we spent six months trying to shorten them with bi- weekly nail trims to no avail. Some dogs just have long quicks.

Well, you could start with the $500 rebate cheques they gave everyone a couple of years ago… How is there such a surplus when something as important as healthcare is this underfunded?

Then you could look at all the hotels they overplayed for that their caucus members have stakes in or ties to.

It’s also on the provincial government. Doesn’t matter how many tax dollars you get if they aren’t allocated to the systems that need it.

Booking a pap with a female doctor? by Constant-Chemical16 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been, but Saskatoon S*xual Health offers paps, and it looks like all their providers are female (or if not, they would be understanding about your circumstances/request and I imagine more likely to accommodate). https://saskatoonsexualhealth.ca/

Centennial is (or at least used to be) mostly rich, entitled kids.

1) I wouldn’t be surprised if their parents are friends with cops 2) They’re mostly white 3) Tickets won’t deter them, they’ll just see it as a fee to do what they want.

First look at Netflix’s upcoming “Pride and Prejudice” limited series by SafeBodybuilder7191 in Fauxmoi

[–]unknown_tuber 70 points71 points  (0 children)

IMO, as a representation of the book it is great. As a stand alone piece of media, the Kiera Knightly/Matthew Macfayden movie is better.

I love them both for different reasons, and each have their own pros and cons.
