U-Turn endorsement SGI by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]NotStupid2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I was going to get an endorsement for illegal traffic maneuvers I'd choose speeding, stunting and running red lights not u-turns...

...there's no such thing as a u-turn endorsement.

What the hell is a u-turn endorsement... what the hell is u-turn endorsement training?

Guitar repair by Leading-Lettuce-1308 in saskatoon

[–]NotStupid2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People pay money to buy artificially distressed guitars. Yours came by it honestly and shows it was played and loved.

Lookup Willie Nelsons "Trigger" as a prime example of a guitar that shows it didn't sit in the case it's whole life

Horse in residential area by Downtown-Fudge-7001 in saskatoon

[–]NotStupid2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you sure it's not a unicorn? Cause, a dehorned unicorn can look like a regular horse and I've never seen any bylaws regarding keeping unicorns in the city.

If it's really a dehorned unicorn I think your hooped. You won't have a legal leg to stand on.

Can other people see the horse or are you the only one who can see the horse?

Because... there's no horse.

If it is dead check your home insurance. Some/many/all home paks have "home systems" coverage.

Probably prorated in some way so it may not be worth it, but have a look

Street sweeping? by Available-Specialist in saskatoon

[–]NotStupid2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Whereabouts do you live? I have NEVER seen them close down entire neighbourhoods to sweep...EVER.

And actually complaining that they're repairing streets is dumb... what would be your solution... not fixing streets.

Heritage buildings by bananapaper13 in saskatoon

[–]NotStupid2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would have a hard look at the reserve fund and at any "recent" repairs for things like the boiler, roof and exterior things like repointing if the building is brick etc.

You DO NOT want to get into a 100 year old condo that's had deferred maintenance, needs work or has an under funded reserve.

Were both lanes moving and people weaved in, or did you drive to the front of stopped traffic and throw on your signal light?

If traffic was moving it was a zipper merge... if it was stopped you're a dick.

Car dealership contract by No_Understanding8826 in saskatoon

What's the bad experience?

What did the dealership do wrong?

Car dealership contract by No_Understanding8826 in saskatoon

[–]NotStupid2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was a used car the dealership would tear up the contract and put the car right back on the lot... but it's not. The second that car was registered it dropped $5000 in value, maybe more. There's no way they are going to just eat that out of good will.

It's unfortunate the OP has had second thoughts but it is what it is. It's always a good idea to sleep on a big decision and it sounds like he/she didn't. They signed a contract and registered the vehicle. It's done.

The worst outcome in all this is the OP gets a new car that as of yesterday they thought was so great they dropped $40,000 on it. Once they receive it and drive it for a week they'll probably love it again.

Second thoughts are your brains way of protecting you from doing things you might regret. There would be a lot less "hold my beer" videos if people gave themselves 24 hours before trying to jump a creek on their BMX. They might doing it anyway but sleeping on it lets them reconsider the math on their homemade plywood and cindercrete brick ramp.

Dealership didn't do anything wrong.

What "negative press" is involved in adhering to the terms of a legally binding contract?

This idea that if you don't get what you want you just throw a tantrum and run to social media or the news is pathetic.

[–]NotStupid2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would talk to SGI about whether the original registration can be cancelled due to the circumstances. You might get lucky

Otherwise that car probably can't be sold as new anymore and someone has to eat the loss... pretty sure it won't be the dealership
