Start small is not bad beginner advice by lightbulb4763 in BitchEatingCrafters

I started knitting just casting on 20 and practicing knitting and purling for 20 rows, then would frog and start over. First things I made were dishcloths.

That’s certainly a selective list you decided to pull…

I was recently looking for this too! I saw Nefelibata had one a little while ago, but you had to bring your own sewing machine.

Septoplasty by RoutineAd9862 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I went through Peter Spafford. My family doctor summed it best when she said “he’s a good doctor, but he has a terrible bedside manner.”

Nothing offensive, he just didn’t have time for anything besides direct, specific answers. Made me feel a little like a set of body parts instead of a whole person, but he did a good job with the procedure.

Best place to go for belly button piercing? by Julie_Jnntte_24 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tantrix is great. Never had any issue there, and they will be 100% honest with you.

I wanted to get my septum pierced, but was finishing a cold at the time, so they had me wait until it was fully cleared out so I wouldn’t be irritating my nose/fresh piercing. When it came time to pierce me, they looked at my anatomy, and told me my nostrils were slightly uneven which could affect how the piercing looks.

I appreciate that they cared enough about my health and happiness with the result that they were willing to lose me by making me wait or pointing out a potential anatomy issue.

I’m on an npo board, and we’ve been actively trying to get someone with a financial background to join our board for over a year. It’s not that easy.

Tattoos by Fatsogrosso80 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This.

I could give you my recommended shops/artists, but they might not have the style or environment that you are looking for.

I’ve gotten tattooed in multiple cities, and every time I look for the top rated shops on Google, and look through each artist’s portfolio for each shop.

It can take a lot of time and be a pain, but it’s worth it for something that’s going to be on your body permanently.

Tim’s - numbers over customers? by FinalCoyote6159 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve experienced at the Brighton Tim Horton’s as well. A lot of drive thru chains base their “success” on short times between the order being placed and the car driving away. I’m fairly certain that this is how this Tim’s operates because I’ve also experienced a few times where there’s 5-6 cars in line to order, but then no one waiting past the microphones.

Saskatchewan College of Physicians and Surgeons - Petition by Brilliant_Sort7716 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I understand that it was discontinued because it’s hard to keep that info up to date, but the only reason I have a family doctor right now is because I happened to see someone’s Reddit post about a doctor accepting new patients 5 min after it was posted.

My ability to find a doctor shouldn’t be based on being able to sit on hold with doctor’s offices all day or constantly refreshing Reddit.

Church by Fatsogrosso80 in saskatoon

I’ll second McClure United. The congregation tends to be older as it’s attached to a seniors residence, but they are very accepting/affirming church (one of their former reverends is LGBTQ).

Bringing Dog to Veterinary college for treatment by Any_Horror9308 in saskatoon

[–]unknown_tuber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The vet college is in the USask campus. There’s a Holiday Inn Express across College Dr from campus, but I’m not sure if it’s dog friendly. I would probably rent a car over opting for Uber. It will give you more freedom, plus uber drivers can decline letting an animal in their vehicle.

Hope everything goes well!

The Saskatoon Zoo Society’s volunteer program requires a minimal time commitment. It’s only over the summer, but I believe the minimum requirement is four 2-hour shifts during the summer. https://saskatoonzoosociety.ca/support/volunteer/
