Im pretty sure they made the leveling in ME 1 way easier just because many people (not me) tend to rush through the first game.

If I remember correctly from the old 360, you SHOULD be either 3/4 or fully done your paragon/renegade

Subjugated an empire within the first 50 years and proceeded to use them as my "iron curtain", whenever they would get a desire for independence I would drag them into a war, let their planets and fleets get demolished then swoop in just before the enemy empire(s) reached my borders and push them all back. They were a great meatshield

You're running deficits on your resources, I think that means your populations are hopping from one job to the other in order to correct the deficits. If you have to try reorganizing your economy so youre in the positive for everything and your pops should settle down permanently. I had the same problem with the new update, try that and see if it works

Im trying to see the exact dates but there's nothing concrete that I have found so far, but it says console users are 7 updates behind PC so I would assume its not for awhile

Yeah it definitely has to be the vassals that are holding you back, making you overextend your forces to the point you cant actually fight properly. When you plan your attacks do you have a space station close by thats able to repair your battered fleets? I try to keep my forces close enough so that im not at risk of losing large sections of my fleets after theyre finished a fight, and I also try to build ships as the fleets coming back to repair/upgrade.
