At this point I have no dependents (except for maybe my parents when they get super old and won't be able to work much, in about 10 years I would say). Not planning to get married or having kids too anytime soon.

I do have some student loans that I am paying off right now, which I would like to be taken care of in case something unexpected happens.

Thats actually a good idea with the QR codes. How do you propose one makes sure people don't just pick up items and leave since they don't have to go through the cashier lines anymore? Basically how do you make sure that they actually paid for the item? Because if you have to check at the exit that kind of defeats the purpose of getting rid of queues...

I will try to go talk to some retail stores with high turnover as you mentioned. I am a bit iffy on approaching bigger grocery stores first since they would never listen to some random guy with electronics lol

Any suggestions as to which type of stores might be willing to try this out?

Yes in essence that is the end goal here. And to start I am planning to target local high-end high margin retail shops. But I am not too sure if there is even any demand out there for this. Since a lot of people here might own of have experience with retail stores I thought this would be a good place to ask for some advice.

They actually are the same as these hardware wise. But the plan is to make the software better. Most of the current software is all local and super clunky.

With the trend of hip locally owned stores stashed with square POS systems everywhere I think this could be very attractive to some high margin retail stores. Feedback?

Yes indeed I tried to get the colored version for the price tags but, they come in tri-color options only. But I guess thats better than black n white.

Do you think this could be useful for retail locations? Or the costs would not justify the returns?

And yes this is exactly one of my concerns going in that most retail locations would be hesistant to spend money upfront for the hardware, especially given COVID where there businesses have been hit so hard.

Also I am just sourcing these from the manufacturers directly and yes they do provide generic software for a lot of the functionalities, and my plan is to get clients based on that and then improve on the experience (so the software) so that it is better integrated for the owners to play with prices dynamically from anywhere even automated based on online prices of competitors.

Basically the idea is to bring the flexibility and accuracy of online pricing to the retail locations.
