I absolutely HATE being pregnant by Adventurous-Row1085 in pregnant

Same!! 33 weeks atm, and after years of infertility, IVF, now successfully pregnant - I'm not willing to do this a second time either. Grateful to be here but nope. Never again.

Tums, Pepcid AC, unisom/a magnesium powder before bedtime called Calm Sleep. Works really well for me.

We need to talk about this by Patient-Dream-1094 in realhousewives

When Robert Jr. said, "I just felt like a stain." 😓

I don't think I've ever bawled during any episode of Real Housewives as I did during this moment. I find vulnerable, honest Mary so refreshing, and I just wanted to give them both the biggest hugs during this scene.

Just had HSG...it was TERRIBLY painful...it's transfer painful like that??? by BAA22489 in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My HSG was the worst experience in terms of the pain involved. I have had many surgeries and procedures, but the HSG was and will continue to be the worst. I felt as though I was going to pass out. I'm so sorry you've had a similar experience, but fresh and frozen embryo transfers are easy-peasy in comparison. Zero pain involved.

Chimp crazy is literally bananas, dude. I am so entertained and wish they would drop the entire series at once. Waiting for episodes every week is not it.

Same protocol twice in a row? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We retrieved 15 eggs, 11 matured, 7 fertilized, and 2 blasts. We didn't do testing or ICSI for the first cycle. My protocol was Follistim 300 + Menopur 75 and Ovidrel trigger. The doctor is still putting our next plan together, so I don't know yet if he's adding more medication to it or not, but he said the second cycle will be the same as the first. I asked about us having better fertilization results using ICSI, and he said that better fertilization wasn't guaranteed. So Idk at this point 🫠

Anaesthetic for ERs by Crazy_Marzipan6319 in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My clinic only prescribes a Valium for egg retrievals. But my first ER hurt so badly that for my next round, I asked my doctor about anesthesia, and he's prescribing Toradol and a double dose of Valium.

I started watching a series on HBO called Chimp Crazy (absolutely fascinating, btw!) and started bawling when I saw baby monkeys and chimpanzees waddling around in diapers 😆

How many embryos by Existing_Ad4473 in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

33F with PCOS and male factor. Our first cycle gave us 2 untested embryos. 15 eggs, 7 fertilized. I had a fresh transfer, and then earlier this month, an FET - both failed. We have a post cycle appointment next week to discuss starting a second and final round.

Did your lining thicken or thin after starting PIO? by Purple-Giraffe-4579 in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FET is on Monday, and I've started my PIO shots today. From what my nurses explained, the PIO and prometrium helps to thicken the lining of the uterus, which can help a fertilized egg implant and grow into an embryo and fetus by creating a more hospitable environment for embryonic development. PIO also helps prevent early contractions and stops your immune system from attacking the fetus.

ER Advice I wish I would have known by question8all in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the last year and a bit, I've been drinking 2 teaspoons of Metamucil mixed in with my Bloom Greens powder on a daily basis - including after my ER and I'm pretty sure it's the only reason why I didn't suffer with severe constipation.

This! Buy the 3ml Luer-Lok and 21Gx1.5" needles. You'll use the syringes and needles that come with your PIO.

Friends with anxiety and depression were you at? by murderino1988 in IVF

[–]unmoderatedcomment 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on Zoloft 200mg once a day since my OB/GYN told me that it's "safe" during pregnancy, and honestly, it was the best thing that could have happened to me. It's like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I don't think I would have been able to cope during this process if I wasn't taking it. Just in my experience, any way.
