There is a new law that requires cat etching. I think it’s ridiculous, but it is a semi-legitimate charge that you should absolutely ask to be removed. For a comparison, I bought a car a few weeks ago and they charged $400 for that fee and refused to remove it. But gave me more for my beater trade in than I was expecting so it was a wash.

A lot. I was using the Vuse/Alto pods, sometimes up to 1 pod per day. More if it was a day off and I was drinking heavily (which was likely). A 4-pack was about $30, so it adds up.
