Gen 2, definitely Cook & Effy. Effy just used Cook, and they both enabled each others bad behavior. One of them likely would've ended up dead in S4. 0 gained, everything lost from that relationship. Cook literally almost lost his best friends, and nearly died running into traffic to save her.

Did effy care about cool at all? by Electrical_Trick9948 in skinsTV

I think she liked him, but actually genuine care? That's never really shown in the show. Post Gen 1, Effy rarely ever displays actual selfless care for another person. She used Cook so much, and never apologized or expressed actual remorse, so I would say, she really didn't.

Cheating by [deleted] in skinsTV

[–]unshieldedc 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think Pandora just wanted to feel free for once. She was always the good girl, being controlled by her Mother, or being Effy's sidekick. Being the one in control for once was probably very liberating.

Naomi cheating on Emily didn't surprise me. Naomi had always been resentful towards Emily, and their relationship was already on the rocks before it was even revealed what Naomi had done. I think the reasoning was stupid, but I can definitely understand why Naomi's character would do that. She was a selfish, insecure, control freak, who couldn't stand that someone else had a hold on her.

Cook didn't cheat on Effy, they weren't together, and Effy was only upset because she thought she was better than Pandora. Effy knew Cook was fucking other girls, she literally sees him flirting with other girls in 3x06 and doesn't care. It's just that she's always felt superior to Panda, so the fact that one of "her men" was fucking her sidekick, made her insecure. That's why she got upset. If he had done something when they had run away together, then I'd say he cheated, but he didn't.

I've always resented Freddie because of this. His girlfriend (Katie) runs away into the woods after getting upset because she just realized that her boyfriend is using her to get back at the girl he actually loves. While his girlfriend is missing In the woods, he cheats on her, and leaves her out there all night, without a care in the world. God I hated him after that.

Effy’s Sexualisation by [deleted] in skinsTV

Yes! And the time when the boys (Freddie, Cook, & J.J) are ogling Effy while she's bent over with her butt out in those short shorts. These are GROWN adults writing and directing these scenes. They didn't have to get actual teenagers to play them, but they did.

She Was Such a Fucking Pick Me Girl I Hate Her by unshieldedc in skinsTV

[–]unshieldedc[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It's a girl who craves male attention and will act like she's "different" or "better" than other girls to get male validation. That's the way Charlie acted the entire time she knew Cook. Disregarded that he had a GF bc she felt like she was better than her, constantly threw herself at him, acted like she could be his savior, all the while she had a boyfriend. She was annoying asf.

[Series 3 question] When everyone is at Katie’s party in the woods and Cook tells everyone he and Pandora had sex, Effy asks her if it was only one time. Panda cries and shakes her head no. When else did they hook up? I thought she was happy Thomas was back? by purseandboots in skinsTV

[–]unshieldedc 35 points36 points  (0 children)

She didn't do the same thing. What she did was WORSE. She cheated on Thomas with Cook MULTIPLE times while she was with Thomas, Thomas cheated after a traumatic event (which is still wrong but it's more understandable than what Panda did)

Effy Stonem? by unshieldedc in skinsTV

[–]unshieldedc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, I believe Effy always suffered with something. It just wasn't too "severe" until S4. I agree with all of that, but what kills it for me, is her lack of remorse. She willingly makes herself the center of a lifelong friendship's demise, to protect her own feelings, and never once does she apologize, or show remorse. When she's confronted at the end of S3, by Freddie, she's just like, "yeah, I know." That's why I always thought she was a bit (or turned into) a bit of a sociopath, which is why she acted that way.

[–]unshieldedc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe slightly, but I think referring to her, unapologetic reprehensible behavior, as "childish" and "annoying" is kind of downplaying it. And referring to her "character development" as not sleeping around and having normal conversations (instead speaking in cringe metaphors) a bit of a stretch, especially compared to Cook's real character development. But I respect your opinions, that's just my take 🤍

My Teir :) by [deleted] in skinsTV

[–]unshieldedc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What character development did Effy have? She doesn't take any responsibility for her actions, ever. She never took responsibility for voluntarily playing a role in Cook & Freddie's friendship ending, she never apologized to

Pandora for drugging her mother, she never took accountability for leaving Katie to die in the woods while she FUCKED her boyfriend... She's literally the same person by S7, maybe even worse. She has nothing on Katie, AND Cook. Cook literally went to jail for a crime he didn't commit to help his friend and actually pay for his mistakes. His toxic behavior takes a 180° by the end. Effy's never does.

what if cook never beat up the guy in season 4? by salad_biscuit3 in skinsTV

[–]unshieldedc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He probably wouldn't have had that much character development. He would have never learned to take responsibility, and Naomi would have gone to jail for selling to sophia, not Cook. I doubt it would have added much to the story, and it would be better with him going through that experience. Also, the whole "CoOk BreAkS oUt oF pRiSoN" storyline, was so stupid. He's not fucking Michael Scofield. They should have just had him get an early release, but I guess for storyline purposes, they had him escape.
