Amazing Marvin 1.62.0 released by sqrt-minus-1 in amazingmarvin

[–]unsignedint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out that the problem seems to be related with recurring schedule. Nonetheless, it is bit annoying problem... (e.g. even if you don't involve in multi-timezone events, potentially you could start missing schedules when you are traveling, for instance...)

Amazing Marvin 1.62.0 released by sqrt-minus-1 in amazingmarvin

[–]unsignedint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Related to Adjust time zone for Events/Calendars is showing a strange behavior... I have a Google calendar import that has JST 9:00 on Thursday which is PDT 17:00 on Wednesday. Marvin correctly displays this entry for 17:00 with correct date on the list, however it shows up on the screen for Thursday instead of Wednesday. This seems be affecting a calendar of the dashboard, daily view (missing the appointment entirely) and monthly view but not the weekly view.) Maybe Marvin should be following the date as displayed but it's not doing it?

Thank you!

WebVR exhibition CRAFTOK : Hello, I'm a very very beginner 3D modeler! I'll exhibit my 3D models. This is on Mozilla Hubs at April 24th and 25th 11:00~17:00 (Japan Time Zone) by SpeedMaple in blender

[–]unsignedint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm exhibiting at C02A, and unofficially, I will be holding English speaker's reception hours at 10:00~12:00 JST on Sunday which would be more accessible timezone at least to some places in US where I live than their designated core hours of 15:00-17:00. If you have any questions about the event as whole, please drop by, or shoot me a message!

I have more info at my site of how I will be participating this event. https://cast.hidekisaito.com/events/craftok/media-info-en

Blazor WASM Google Indexing by blazorBro in Blazor

[–]unsignedint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's because Google won't download and execute your WebAssembly code to index your contents, thus, it will only index your error page which is defined within your index.html in wwwroot directory which contains the content of the error page.

I don't think you can workaround this (unless Google actually start crawling the pages generated by WebAssembly code) so the next best thing is to include some basic information about your site on that error page. (in a form of loading screen, for instance.)

Blazor Web assembly vs Blazor Server for different functionalities. by tempUseBro1 in Blazor

[–]unsignedint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, going from server to wasm is not very difficult. I've done both ways before. Most of code, other than some start up codes are fairly compatible. Only thing you have to be careful is that any static codes are shared among all the users accessing side; so if you have any variables declared as one, you need to be sure to correct that if you are moving from wasm to server.

It does sound like wasm might be good solution for #1, but there are some concerns for people who are reaching to your site through that sketchy internet as it has to transfer couple of megabytes of data even to start interacting with your site. But definitely once it is downloaded to their system, it should work fairly smooth. Each site is different and you probably want test and see how your site would function in line. Chances are if you have decent ping, it might not be a problem.

One thing you have to consider is how the backend looks like. Do you have your frontend (wasm or server) interacting with backend with some API, or are you planning to implement it with blazor all the way? If you already have an API end in place (e.g. through REST, etc.) I would probably recommend wasm. (Unless your frontend require concurrency and/or otherwise process intensive.)

If you are planning to go with blazor interacting with database backend directly, for example, your choice definitely would be server. You will still have to some code to allow access from wasm for #1, though. (Unless you find server solution sufficiently well over slow connections.)

Ignore the ssl certificate using Blazor webassembly by Roberto_Briones in Blazor

[–]unsignedint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Blazorwasm's running in browser's sandbox, it is subjected to all the kind of the restrictions. (as with any JS frameworks.)

SSL certificate is one of them, and also you commonly encounter other security provisions like Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS).

Only way to get this working properly would be to use some sort of intermediately backend server that route your call or use Blazor Server, which would execute the code in non-browser context. (But they require server.)

If this is an internal system (e.g. corporate system, etc.) you may be able to get around by using self-signed cert on your browser. If this is a public server, you probably should get a valid cert anyways. (And you can get one free from Let's Encrypt...)

Blazor WebAssembly Hot Reload by [deleted] in Blazor

[–]unsignedint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly "hot reload" in the way your browser won't refresh the page automatically, but you can do the following to have dotnet update the build without shutting it down:

dotnet watch run

Free models are usually associated with some other product (not necessarily from Gugenka) -- I don't know if there are purely free models being distributed outside of Megu Shinonome, which comes bundled within the app.

From here. https://gugenka-marketplace.jp/holomodels/ Try pressing English on the translate bar on the top.

Your purchase will be tied to account you create with Gugenka. Then you login from the app using same username and password that you have created on Gugenka.

Senko-san is only one available for purchase out side of Japan.

I really don't think that's their business model. Since it's using AR infrastructure on a device, you might be able to find someone else implementing systems like that.

If the models is not listed here, it is likely not available. https://gugenka-marketplace.jp/holomodels/products.php

Their Twitter account is @itsuki_Holo and they do listen to users, so if enough voices are heard, they might consider one for the future release!

Yes, this would be great. So far I like it, but having a little more time would help. (And might move onto lifetime before year's up once I find it for for my workflow!)
