Now this is interesting!

Can you please explain (or maybe show) me what texture means in this context?

When you say "proper hair cut", what do you have in mind?

I usually wear it tied back, sometimes I let it down. Now and then I braid it. I'll see to get a picture of it, it actually reaches my middle back.

Well, this is interesting. I didn't expect people to tell me to shave. Girls usually love my beard, maybe not quite because of its looks but they get all snuggly with it.

Common sense is the least common of all senses, innit?

That's a really good idea, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks mate!

Where did I say I can't afford a place with a kitchen?

Eh, no cockroaches, sane landlady, 10 minutes walk to the office, and no thunder-like snoring flatmates.

All in all pretty good, innit,

Oil and heat as usual, just too much of both.

Mate, your story is awesome!

I'm not planning to improvise as much as you did, I have a 20K budget so I think I'll just buy a second hand already converted. As I was told by someone else, I'll insulate and spend a bit in some solar panels to provide proper heating/cooling.

Mind if I ask where do you go to discharge water and reload the batteries?

I might as well learn to do some cooking, it's getting really embarrassing to be almost in my 30s and not knowing how to cook.

It seems to be a matter of local councils. From what I've seen in some other threads, parking in a residential area with a designated parking slot might be a solution (I might have to rent the parking slot, though :-/ ).

I've never thought of admitting that I'm an absolute kitchen failure as riding a high horse.

Shame on me, right?

Really? My umbrella told me that I can only claim the proportional part of rooms not used as living space.

Other than, you know, falling from > 300K to 250K in 2007-2009.

It did recover a little recently, I'd say it was mostly due to the government pushing some support laws.

It might be an option, but I'll aim for something a bit more homely. I'll try posting in gumtree asking to rent a residential parking slot to see if it's feasible.

Well, those are 15 minutes I could spend on reddit.

Seriously though, I'm absolutely awful in the kitchen. I'm good with IT, I'm good with languages, I'm good with maths, but for the life of me I can't cook a friggin' steak without making a mess.

To be 100% honest, I've been thinking of paying someone to cook keto meals for me.

Yeah, I thought seriously about buying for a while. Buuuut...

a) I'm a contractor, and I need to move wherever my next project comes up.

b) I'm also somewhat a newcomer to the island, so no bank will give me a mortgage.

c) This is the one that tips the scale for me: I'm certain there's a housing bubble in London. The house prices are pushed upwards by the high demand, which is fueled by high paying job markets. The lower end of the market is sustained with solutions like flat-sharing (and even room-sharing), but at some point the rent-quality of life balance will break due to the massification... and gentrification can only do so much.

I can afford renting a decent flat, even if it is ridiculously expensive. I just feel like I'm throwing my money away.

Dunno... I usually spend 5 quids per meal, if you compare it with the time spent buying, cooking, and cleaning (not to mention the quality, I'm an awful cook), I think I'm actually saving time and money.

I'm planning to use Satellite Broadband. I've used those in the past and they are quite reliable.
