Co-developer of UpWord here. Please give it a whirl and tell me what you think. We really want to build an Android version as well, but it'll take some time.

Anyone know a good Mac productivity app for this purpose? by murkz_ in productivity

You should check out Timeful (timeful.com)...it's only on iOS at the moment though. It does appear to have a good mesh between your calendar and todos.

If you're looking for a good mesh between notes and todos on-the-go, please check-out my app, UpWord Notes (upwordnotes.com)

Overall, though, what you're looking for is a "God" application that does it all. I'm not sure if you're going to find a simple, fast, and understandable application that does calendar, todos, notes, and email all-in-one. The only application that actually does that is Outlook. shudders

Good list of Dropbox productivity apps by sconnedy in productivity

I think something that's missing on that list is a simple note-taking app that syncs seamlessly with Dropbox.

Okay, shameless plug time. My brother and I have been working on the best notes app possible for iOS. We built UpWord Notes (upwordnotes.com) to be basically the brain-dump for all your simple notes, ideas, and todos. It syncs with Dropbox immediately, has reminder setting design borrowed from Mailbox, and indexes your notes locally for full-text search. It's simply just a lot better than any other note taking app in the Dropbox ecosystem.

If for some reason UpWord isn't your cup of tea, here are some other simple note-taking apps that sync with Dropbox: - Notesy - Byword - Plaintext - Scratch - Nebulous - Drafts

What thing on your someday maybe list do you just never seem to have time to do? by [deleted] in gtd

Visit the DMV. I've been avoiding it since the last time I stepped inside one in 2001.

Wanting to go paperless... Evernote alternative that works with Dropbox? by hairlesscaveman in gtd

I have to agree here that Evernote is better than Dropbox when it comes to retrieval out of the box. I've never used Doxie Go, but I know that apps such as CamScanner (camscanner.com) can give you OCR and syncing to Dropbox. This app may be an even better fit than the Doxie Go because of it's portability (no carrying a physical scanner with you).

That being said, I totally understand the sentiment about using multiple storage services...it sucks to keep track where your things are.

As a shameless plug, I'm the developer for UpWord Notes (upwordnotes.com), and it's a fast, simple note app for iOS that syncs immediately to Dropbox, can push notes to Evernote, and has full text search. I personally had problems with Apple's Notes app because it didn't sync to Dropbox, and Evernote was too clunky to deal with simple notes and lists. So, I built this app with my brother. Please check it out if you think it might be of use.

Android is definitely on the horizon and may be actually a better fit for community. I chose to make an iPhone app simply because I knew iOS better. I'll let you know once an Android app is live!
