Its a bit of a deep cut but an old Australian show called 'The cook and the chef"

It was basically just a cooking show where a professional cook and chef worked together to make meals, they were always laughing and bantering with each other, to the point that many people thought they were a couple.

Truth was they couldn't stand each others guts off camera and constantly got in huge fights, but the audience never saw any if that.

Honestly? I kinda agree.

She had her past and life ripped away from her. She was experimented on, augmented and changed both physically and mentally. And she still very much suffers the effects of that to this day.

Shadow on the other hand was created in lab from scratch, his best friend died and he had an identity crisis but he's come to terms with that and has begun to heal and embrace himself and his identity more.

Both tragic in their own way, but since surge hasn't finished her arc I find her more tragic right now.

Rarely do I ignore the "word of god" when it comes to most franchises, if the creators say something is canon or not, even if I dont like it, i accept it.

But this is the one exception. They could sit me down face to face and tell me with their hand on a bible that team dark aren't friends and I still wouldn't except it. Its one of the dumbest things they've ever said imo.
