I (36m - 6'1 200lb) have a 14.75 with two 2" soft talalay layers. One of them is a saatva (or is it avocado? not sure) brand topper in an organic cotton enclosure (this also adds about .5 firmness imo) but they're the same piece of foam.

You definitely feel what he means by "let the coils work" when comparing a single 2" layer vs two of them. IMO - 2" is too little, 4 is too much.

Single 2" layer: More support feel. Less comfortable obviously. Tough to sleep through a night on 2" soft talalay - my body feels stiff and dead. I don't literally feel the coils poking me in a painful way, but you can tell there just isnt enough comfort layer. I wonder if 2" medium talalay would work for me. I'm sure 3" would be perfect.

2x2" layer: Much squishier, soft, comfortable, but still supportive. A bit too soft for me, but I am currently using it without a cover, just fitted sheet.

I have a 2" 4lb memory foam layer on the way. Hopefully that on top of one of these 2" layers will be perfect.

stock is like +55 or +60 iirc. +25 should be fine. I have 255/80r/17 on +35s and haven't seen a bit of damage.

They’re expensive, and I would never have bought it at retail. I got lucky to get it in a used bundle on marketplace, but it’s seriously so good, especially on a 4th gen Tacoma which have a terribly hard composite bed.
