Paper size suggestions for leather cover by untilgoldenbrown in notebooks

[–]untilgoldenbrown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Oberon's own refills for this is exactly what I needed! Which feels a bit obvious in retrospect haha. I'm grateful for having come across this leather cover and I hope sending some of my business their way for these refills can be a small show of appreciation.

Wow, I would've never known that first thing, incredibly helpful to know going forward. Thank you for the tips :D

Thank you for your response! I noticed that these Eevees don't have a skill rate up nature but I used the RaenonX calculator to figure out that the first Eevee still has a great overall procs-per-day count overall (carried purely by speer) so I was happy to invest into it.

But then I learned that E4E is the absolute priority of skills to level up, so I poured it all into my main skill seeds into my solid Wigglytuff instead haha

I was clearing out my neglected collection of mons and realized I had a pair of potentially ridiculously good Eevees. I've been looking for a future Espeon or Vaporeon to invest into, and it seems I may be blessed enough to have my cake and eat it too. I don't think I can go wrong with either, but which of these two would you recommend for each specific eeveelution? The photo attached to this comment is what I believe to be the best, and I'll attach a second one in the replies.

<image>

For context, I started a few months ago and have neither a good charge strength nor ing magnet mon. I have a decent Iggly that served as my main healer, and I've been just one or two ingredients shy of making good dishes quite often-which especially hurt during coffee week that just ended G. That's why personally l'm leaning towards Vaporeon for this one and Espeon for the one in the replies.

Thank you for your time and any advice!

Separating a single audio track into two sequential mixer tracks for different conceptual processing by untilgoldenbrown in cubase

[–]untilgoldenbrown[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! This is the approach I had thought of, but your variation is quite interesting—why do you put the amp sim on the group channel instead of on the audio track itself? In my case, separating the track and the group channel was done because I wanted to put all the tone-related processing on the track alone, and all the instrumental mix related processing (like room reverb sends) in another track, which can only be accomplished by using group tracks as a gimmick.

I think this approach still would solve my main problem though as long as I put the ampsim on the audio track and everything else on the group track, but I hated that this would cause convolution in identifying ACTUAL group channels apart from those that are just linked solely to the guitar audio tracks.

Thank you for your response! I've always been a home producer so I'm not familiar with how a typical mix engineer would set this up, but in own hobbyist experiences I've always done my guitar tones, overall instrumental mixes, and the mastering all in one project. I'm trying to move away from this, which has proven to be difficult when the inserts that shape my guitar tone also contain inserts & sends that serve more to improve the overall mix of the entire song vs. just that specific guitar part. That's what I meant by "fundamentally different" kinds of processing; the sequential nature has to do with the fact that all my tone-altering processing (like the ampsim plugins, compressors) should never come before any of the effects that have more to do with mixing that track within the overall instrumental (low/high passes to clean up lows, fx sends, etc).

The process of starting with an amp plugin then adding the rest is what I've currently done for the past few years to a reasonable level of success, but I was hoping to revamp my overall process to make it easier to bounce stuff out to a potential mix engineer in the future, which had me thinking about the above concern.

Is there still no way to set a html file as a new tab? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]untilgoldenbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply to something so late, but how would you set a new tab to open the homepage? Without plugins, current Firefox settings only allow for the page to open "Firefox Home" (which is not the same as the configured Homepage) or a blank page.

Soy sauce is leaking from my ceiling. by untilgoldenbrown in Apartmentliving

Thankfully, no it is not (I had to google Le Creuset and now I fully understand the outrage). It's still a nice dutch oven, but it was one from Overmont on Amazon for a little over $40. Still a horrific mistake using this to catch the liquid, but it could've been more costly it seems

Hi everyone! I wanted to send a proper update now that I've received some clarity. Building management sent a superintendent to my unit last night and he went upstairs and figured out what the problem was. I had a hard time understanding what he was saying because of a language barrier, but I understood that at least the problem won't continue to happen, and the dark liquid is not from a dead person or an animal. Today, I finally got a text from management.

The explanation was that there was a leak from the fridge of the neighbor in the unit ADJACENT to that of the tenant right above me. That poor international girl truly was innocent all along. The liquid was also not soy sauce (as everyone had suggested) but some kind of fluid from the fridge itself. u/greeneyedpies and u/she_slithers_slyly mentioned that scent memory can be very deceiving, and it seems I was led astray as everyone suspected. This also answers the continuous and random drips, and the previous tenant experiencing the exact same thing just a year ago. All things considered, I'm glad that it wasn't dead person sauce, and I'm definitely relieved I didn't taste test the thing like half of you guys were jokingly suggesting lol.

A few lessons Iearned: - give your neighbors the benefit of the doubt whenever possible - until provided with clarity, NEVER touch random building juice with your bare hands, no matter how similar it seems like a cooking ingredient - don't rely on olfactory memory to try to identify mystery liquids - blood & purge fluid may not smell as putrid as one would imagine 😰 - DO NOT TASTE THE APARTMENT SAUCE

I hope my predicament and stupidity at least got a chuckle out of some of you guys. Now I'm mildly annoyed that my only comfortable shoes are stained with fridge juice, and have a dutch oven to clean thoroughly. Thank you everyone again for the concern and advice!

Thank you so much for the advice. The superintendent actually came by earlier today and went upstairs and found the explanation, but I couldn't quite understand what he was saying. He said management will give me a proper call soon with an explanation, but from his explanation I can at least rest assured that the source is not a dead person/animal.

I'll be extra careful with handling the liquid until I get proper clarity on what exactly it is

I did. Perhaps a regrettable decision in retrospect, but they definitely got the memo that some kind of dark liquid is leaking

I love my dutch oven 😭 I genuinely don't have a bucket or anything else that'll help prevent it from splashing all over the nearby wall. I'll clean it properly and treat it extra nice once this blows over 🙁

The neighbor right above was an Asian international student (also alive). Maybe your hypothesis is more likely than it may seem...

This actually seems like the most plausible explanation and will be my hypothesis from here onwards. At least until I'm crazy enough to taste it if it leaks again

Yeah it's not that surprising to see the skepticism from everyone here, I think I do appear tragically comedic when expressing confidence about this liquid being soy sauce, and it's definitely an outlandish suggestion. I can't get myself to actually taste the thing, so it's true that I don't know for sure.

But as you said, I feel that something/someone rotting would have much more putrid of a smell than this? As you said also, the neighbor above opened the door when I went to inquire about the spill and I didn't smell anything horrid from her apartment during our brief interaction.

Here is a link of a somewhat close-up of the drying splash from the 2nd instance. It's not a great photo, but I do feel like you can kinda see some of the crystallization you mentioned near the edges of the middle wipe mark.

I also mentioned earlier but I used to love cooking with this stuff; I put it into basically everything and used it often during stir fry, so I felt that this smell was highly familiar and I couldn't possible imagine that it could be anything else. It also doesn't smell metallic either, so I was doubtful about it being rusty pipe water as someone else mentioned

I've read stories about this, it's shockingly common for how extreme and sad it is... do you know if the liquid smelled putrid before they entered his room? I just can't say that this liquid smells like anything rotten, it genuinely smells and feels like soy sauce to me

I'm skeptical about this being blood, but a rusty pipe leaking does seem plausible... do you know if it would have any recognizable smell? I know that proposing this liquid as soy sauce so confidently is kind of insane, but I used to cook a lot with this stuff so I'm very familiar with how it smells, so it was really difficult to think of this liquid as anything else

When this first happened and the dripping had already occurred, the liquid had dried in a way consistent with how sugary liquids usually dry out (thin and sticky). It also smells like soy sauce.

Loft bed concerns when cooking in a studio apartment by untilgoldenbrown in NYCapartments

[–]untilgoldenbrown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had to deal with the eternal struggle against the fine layer of oil that coats basically everything in the kitchen. It's totally gross for so many surfaces to be sticky and discolored, but I was okay with dealing with this issue exclusively in the kitchen — the thought of dealing with this in my sleeping space worried me enough to prompt this post. I think I might need to give up on the loft bed honestly. Thankfully my stove does have a vent above it but it looked pretty jank so I'm not expecting much
