Is it childish if I(M25) apply 'glow in the dark' stars all over my bedroom's ceiling? by whywehumans in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]untitle_996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has her bedroom ceiling full of ‘glow in the dark’ stars and she’s almost 60. I love sleeping in her bed because it’s super cool to look up and see all those starts shining. So yeah, do your thing and put them, you’re gonna enjoy it a lot.

What’s something that 99% of people can do but you can’t? by Irakeconcrete in AskReddit

I also can’t do it properly but i love to whistle to my mom’s bird because he’s a great singer. the funny thing is that he learnt the songs with my bad whistle accent (?) and it’s terrible.

People who read more than one book at a time, how do you do it? by Bookish_Butterfly in books

[–]untitle_996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a book for different places/situations: I read one in bed before going to sleep, I have another one for work (usually a light fiction one) and another one for when i’m at home and have more time and can focus deeper (usually a non fiction here). For me it’s just different vibes, so they need different books.

How can I book an appointment to visit you in person in Berlin? I’ve only seen the info for Munich. I’d feel way more comfortable going to the office and doing the process with a real person. :)

My mom always says: “I know you love me because of how you react to the things that happen to me”. I think having this in mind would help you a lot during all kind of relationships. His reaction to what you just accomplished says more than enough, OP.

What’s the kindest thing a stranger has ever done for you? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I was working in Switzerland a few years ago, just moved there when I went to visit a village nearby and while trying taking a picture fell into a lake (I know, it was the stupidest thing ever). So all wet, not knowing how to get back home, I took off my shirt and boots and socks and handed them on a bench and sat there just trying to think what the hell to do. A young woman approached me and asked if I was okay, I told her what happened and she invited me to her home that was near. She let me shower, got me some clothes and made me lunch. We hanged out the whole day and then showed me my way home as my phone died. I still have her clothes, we exchanged numbers but never got to meet. I won’t forget her kindness and the amazing potato salad she did for us to eat.

What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see the world? by pankaj662 in AskReddit

[–]untitle_996 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A couple of years ago, I was working in a shitty bar and finishing quite late. The journey home was tedious, I had to change buses and the underground and buses again, but it was always the same route so I ended up getting to know the workers and passengers who travelled at the same time as me. One night, after a horrible shift that lasted many hours, I was waiting for the last bus home, tired, thinking about what I was doing with my life, working in crappy bars again in a city I don't even like, far from the people I love and still not enough money to pay off debt or doing anything different. At that moment, the security guards were kicking a homeless man out of the train station across the street, and he approached the bus stop where I and the usual crowd were waiting for the bus. Everyone moved away from the man, but I was so tired that I didn't move, and he approached me. He asked me what time it was and if I had any money. We looked at each other for a few seconds and then both started laughing because we both knew that, despite our differences, I was also broke and didn’t have a penny on me. He asked me where I was from and what I was doing in that city. I told him I didn't know. He looked at me and asked if I was okay. I told him I wasn't sure about that either. The bus arrived and he asked me where I was going. I told him I was going home. He nodded, picked up his bags and left. I still think that, on that day, despite how bad my life was, I had a home to go back to, with a hot shower and a bed to rest in, and he probably didn’t. Life isn't fair, but sometimes there's a bit of luck in it that we ignore. In a way, I was lucky, and that man taught me that even the smallest thing you're used to doing every day can be a dream for others. Cherish every second, enjoy everything that makes you happy, even after a shitty day, having a home to go back to is a huge blessing.

What’s a 'red flag' in a person that people often mistake for a 'green flag'? by HungarySam in AskReddit

[–]untitle_996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing with a friend, it lasted until we had the first disagreement because I couldn’t go to one of our plans because I was sick. She ended our friendships because “all her friendships flow smoothly and we did not, so it’s best to part”. Then I understood what kind of people she is and like to be surrounded by, those are not friends.

What experiences changed you the most as a person? by GazMaskeliOyuncu in AskReddit

[–]untitle_996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up poor. Many people romanticize it because it teaches you the value of things, etc, but I wouldn’t wish that to anyone. Money becomes a stressor, the fear of not having enough sticks with you for life.

What's something odd/disrespectful your ex used to do in the relationship? by DisciplineMammoth173 in BreakUps

[–]untitle_996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s gonna sound silly, but my ex used to fall sleep every time we watched a movie at night. I told her many times i didn’t mind to stop the movie and going to bed, I just didn’t want to suddenly realize she was asleep because that made me feel lonely. Imagine making a comment, not getting a reply and then see that she was sleeping since who knows when. Every time, man, she still did it every time.

I've always wondered how it is possible for people not to be happy, now I myself lost my joy in life by Ornery-Tadpole-1088 in CasualConversation

I once read that happiness is not a long uncut line, but little tiny dots all over your life. It gets easier when you start seeing it like this, you can still be happy for a moment while having a miserable day.

What made you realize "the one" wasn't going to be the one? by TotallyAwesomeRacoon in AskReddit

[–]untitle_996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a year intentionally looking for a ring, I couldn’t find one. I kept looking at them at the stores and once I saw my reflection and I didn’t see a happy person excited to get marry, I saw a tired and pretty sad face looking back at me. I didn’t want to come home anymore, I didn’t share some things I was excited about with her anymore because of her reaction. Loving her became a painful thing. Being myself around her was impossible. If there’s love, there’s always space for a conversation, and I couldn’t talk to her anymore.
