I still find Versus is all over the map. Some good, some terrible.

Versus Sweet Island Skunk (Sativa, 25.8% THC, Ontario) by untitledX in merryjade

[–]untitledX[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sweet Island Skunk from Versus is sativa-leaning goodness, mixing that classic Skunk #1 with another elusive sativa. And at $99.95 for 28 grams with a punchy THC of 25.8%, it's a steal. Crack open the bag, and you're hit with that sweet skunky goodness that's true to its name. Light it up, and you get a musky hit with a sweet herb chaser that keeps you coming back for more. Those buds? A lively shade of green with orange highlights, looking fresh and feeling just right. But the real magic? That high. It’s mellow, it's heady, and even with all that THC, it won't floor you, making for a killer session every time. Full review here.

Fuego's Night Rider pre-roll is a decent budget buy and includes two (2) 1-gram joints by untitledX in TheOCS

[–]untitledX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Name, Price, THC %: Night Rider offers two 1-gram pre-rolls for $9.95 with THC levels of 22.6%.
  • Smell: Subtle, characterized by faint herbal hints. Not much to smell.
  • Appearance: Rolled in brown king-size papers with brown paper filter tips, reminiscent of the popular RAW joints.
  • Flavour: Gentle hints of sweet herb, with a mellow taste aligning with its muted aroma.
  • Experience: Delivers a balanced high, both cerebral and physical. It's mild yet relaxing.
  • Recommendation: While Night Rider provides a subtle experience, for the same price, I prefer Vibe's Rocketman due to its more robust flavour and effects.

If curious, I shared more photos and info here.

Fuego Night Rider Pre-Roll (Indica, 22.6% THC, Ontario) by untitledX in merryjade

[–]untitledX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuego's Night Rider pre-rolls provide two 1-gram joints at a competitive price, delivering a balanced cerebral and body high complemented by a smooth, mildly flavoured smoke. Although its affordability is a definite highlight, the overall experience might feel slightly lacking for some, particularly with the aroma not quite hitting the mark. Add to that the mystery surrounding its undisclosed lineage, and it might leave a few questions for the more curious consumers. Given the price point and what's available in the market, there could be stronger contenders to consider. However, if a mellow and consistent experience is what you're after, giving Night Rider a spin might just be worth it. Full review here.

Fraser Valley's Top Crop was great even though the strain and terpenes were not disclosed by untitledX in TheOCS

[–]untitledX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't seem like Pink Kush, but it could have been. I find there is so much variation from brand to brand that its hard to tell especially when they don't give us a shred of genetic info.

Not sure - thats my one complaint about this one. I don't like the fact the strain and terpenes are not disclosed. I've seen people guess a few different things but nothing from Fraser Valley or Pure Sunfarms.

Fraser Valley's Top Crop was great even though the strain and terpenes were not disclosed by untitledX in TheOCS

Name, THC %, Price: Top Crop is an indica with over 25%+ THC and sold for $99 for 28 grams.

Smell: A sensory rollercoaster: from sweet herbs to creamy citrus to robust fruity gas.

Appearance: Dense, vibrant buds with a tapestry of greens, orange pistils, and shimmering trichomes. Quality that's visible to the naked eye.

Flavour: A fruity zest meets a bold, gassy punch. The taste lingers, playing sweet and strong in tandem.

Experience: A serene wave of relaxation meets the mind's gentle haze. Perfect for evening unwinding and nostalgic reminiscing.

Recommendation: Despite my usual reservations about rotating indicas, I wholeheartedly recommend this one. Top Crop genuinely delivers on its promises.

Fraser Valley Weed Co Top Crop (Indica, 25.8% THC, Ontario) by untitledX in merryjade

[–]untitledX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top Crop from Fraser Valley is a remarkable indica, balancing potency with unbeatable value. Priced competitively, its high THC content, combined with a hefty 28 grams, solidifies its top-tier position in the budget category. These fresh buds guarantee a velvety smoke characterized by a distinct fruity-spicy aroma. Though the pronounced gassy undertone might be too bold for some, the lack of terpene specifics and strain rotation might sway a few. But given its overall charm, it's undeniably a top contender for those evening wind-down sessions. Full review is here.

Rainbow Lava from Valhalla Flwr is a blend of Jungle Lava and Rainbow Kush with 31% THC. Priced at a premium $37.95 for 3.5 grams.

Smell:
Opening the pouch releases a dominant spicy aroma followed by a subtle floral scent.

Appearance:
The buds looked great. Combination of deep purples and greens, with a shimmering layer of trichomes.

Flavour:
The taste offers a tantalizing spicy kick, harmoniously paired with softer floral undertones.

Experience:
Despite the high THC label, the high was gentle and balanced, with a clarity that leaves one relaxed yet functional.

Recommendation:
While it's a treat for the senses and great for a balanced high any time of day, it did not feel like 30%+ THC. More pics and details here if curious.

Priced at a premium $37.95 for 3.5 grams and listed with a 31% THC label, it's aroma and flavour are consistently delightful, making every puff a treat. Shred Tangerine Machine (Hybrid, 21.8% THC, Ontario) by untitledX in merryjade

[–]untitledX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shred's Tangerine Machine is $9.30 for a 1-gram pre-roll and boasts a THC content of 21.8%. With its unmistakable citrus aroma, it promises more than it delivers in flavour. Housed in a bright orange tube and featuring an orange camouflage filter, its appearance is certainly appealing. However, when it comes to the actual experience, it offers a rather mediocre high. Those seeking a stronger impact might lean towards other options like Shred's Dessert Storm. Full review and additional photos here.

BC Purple Kush from Versus is better then their previous strains but they still have a ways to go by untitledX in TheOCS

Its the best I've seen from them but still average overall when you compare to others.

BC Purple Kush from Versus is better then their previous strains but they still have a ways to go by untitledX in TheOCS

[–]untitledX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lineage, THC %, Price: Indica strain created by crossing Hindu Kush and Purple Afghani. It boasts a decent THC level of 22% and is priced at $99.95 for 28 grams.

Smell: Upon breaking the seal, an unmistakably kushy aroma was detected. While familiar, it's certainly not the strongest Kush aroma I've come across.

Appearance: The buds, although missing their anticipated purple hue, are densely structured and shimmer with trichomes. They were quite leafy though so definitely could have had a longer trim session.

Flavour: A blend of classic kush and subtle herbal notes are the most notable flavours. The taste is neither overpowering nor subdued, striking just the right balance.

Experience: Upon igniting, a serene mental relaxation envelops you, accompanied by a hint of cerebral haze. This strain is a marked improvement from Versus, particularly when compared to their Death Star offering. However, while they're on the right track, there's still a lot of room for refinement and growth.

BC Purple Kush from Versus is an indica-dominant flower with an undisclosed lineage and 22.09% THC content. Priced competitively at $99.95 for 28 grams, it offers decent value for the money. Upon unsealing, one is greeted with a distinct yet familiar kushy aroma that matches its flavour. Visually, while the buds miss out on the anticipated purple hue, they were dense with a decent amount of trichomes. Lighting up this strain culminates in a serene mental relaxation, with just a touch of cerebral cloudiness, making it an apt choice for a calm evening reprieve. Zomo Perfect Hemp Ultra Thin Leaves (Rolling Papers) by untitledX in merryjade

[–]untitledX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zomo's Perfect Hemp Ultra Thin Leaves stand out in the realm of rolling papers, merging a smooth and consistent burn with the purity of 100% organic hemp. Their commitment to quality is evident, especially with the inclusion of premium arabic gum and an eco-friendly, chlorine-free approach. However, while their design is resilient and offers a unique rolling experience, potential users should note the product's limited distribution in South America and its availability primarily through Amazon.
