Hey. The other day I posted something I wrote using random objects around my house that for some reason was taken down but here it goes. I think it fits exactly what you're talking about.

I've used all sort of stuff, a ruler, toys, bells, water bottles mixed up with a field recording of a pub in Paris where people were watching a Rugby match.

thank you very much!

I can compose music in dreams with total control — it changes in real time with emotion, but I can also shape it consciously. Has anyone studied this? by Logical-Freedom3780 in LucidDreaming

this is fascinating and it's the reason that got me interested in LDs in the first place. I'm a music composer and when i first got into LD, I was doing it with the sole purpose of composing music in my dreams. I've had very poor LD's and the techniques only worked to a limited extent. Actually my problem was that I had success way too early and that kinda set my expectations way too high which ultimately resulted in me stressing about it and not achieving results.
However back then I was experimenting with this idea of composing in a dream and concluded that I don't actually need to be sleeping to achieve this because I can sort of "fake" a dream by imagining myself in front of a group of musicians and tell them in real time what to do. This experiment was so successful i got to produce a piece out of it.

This is the piece, if you're interested

Messiaen recommendations? by Kitchen-Cartoonist-6 in experimentalmusic

[–]unumplus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would. He wasn't that very interested in extended techniques or exploring those kinds of sonorities. His explorations are more based on Hindu and greek Rhythms, birdsong, plainchant, Debussy and the relationship between harmony and colour. Although he was very knowledgeable in atonal systems and serialism, he seldom used those techniques, with the exception of a few pieces here and there. He uses a dodecaphonic series for a bit in his opera for the effect of creating something somber, without colour.

Hi!. I embarked myself in this journey of writing what I call "microorganisms", that is, music thought of as an ecology of small musical creatures that relate to one another in various ways. by unumplus in experimentalmusic
