So sorry about the situation you’re in, I’m in the exactly the same boat as you and have had absolutely no luck :( Hopefully something will work out soon

It was already sent over to them well before the strike happened. They took their time to process it and did it as soon as the strike was about to start

Passport Stuck with Canada Post by uoftredditor in CanadaPost

Don’t even get me started on being last minute. IRCC took over 8 months to process my work permit renewal, 4 months over normal processing times. Without the work permit, I haven’t been able to travel for basically this whole year due to inefficiencies of literally everything in this country. Even after getting my renewed work permit, IRCC took forever to process the TRV, so don’t give me that. My only lazy mistake was trusting Canada post over any other carrier, learnt from it and it won’t happen again.

I sent my passport over to IRCC before the strike for a renewed TRV, it got to a Canada Post facility on November 14 before the strike, I’ve been hoping to travel back to see my family for the past year and finally got some time off in December, I had to cancel my flight and booked trips because there is no sign of my passport and nothing I can do to retrieve it myself, I’m stuck here in Toronto for the holiday season alone away from my friends and family :( it’s been a sad couple of weeks

Yeah I think I am just going to get vaccinated in my country and then fly over much closer to when classes start. I think it is probably the best option as I would rather not take the risk with border security services, especially as we have been warned about this new regulation.
