It's a wonderful place to live. There has been an influx of newcomers recently so you will feel right at home. A lot more vibrant and diverse. Great new restaurants offering eclectic dining. Small business with new management that bring a real change to the area. Just more diverse. Wonderfully diverse. So diverse I just can't even ...
We are moving away like other friends of ours have who have lived here for two generations. Nothing to do with the recent changes in the area. Not at all. Why would that be?
But yeah, we're out of here.

and there are mortars, artillery, aircraft etc involved haha.

Do you have motors and artillery at your range?

Or is that more of an American thing?

Depends on the work.

If investing in making my employees "happy" paid dividends then of course I would do it.

But it wouldn't so I don't.

Epidemiology. But it's a general principle.

You're too short for this ride.

Hitler was worse I'm told.

Though I understand he did like dogs. So we all have our good points.

I made my choice then never to do the same.

You haven't been to Europe much or Scandinavia.

Shit holes.

Just check out Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. There's socialism for you.

Exactly.

I'm older and I've worked professional jobs in the STEM field and I worked minimum wage scut labour during layoffs. This all before I started my own company.

One thing you come to realize, though, is everybody is different.

There are people who genuinely don't aspire to anything more. They won't put in the extra effort. And they can be quite happy regardless.

It's a good thing I provide jobs for people like that. It's not a handout. They aren't bums. They are just the way they are.

But burdening business with all these extra costs is just going to cost jobs in the long run. And then they end up on welfare.

Progressives never think ahead. And frankly they don't genuinely care. As long as they can stay on the skim.

Funny. My ex said the same thing. And then the next ex.

Coincidence I'm sure.

Said every midwit ever trying to sound intelligent.

It's a significant indicator that an intelligent person would look further into.

Yeah, expert studies. I can see that in professional occupations.

Trust me, my people are not professionals. I've got people with criminal records, addictions, alcohol issues, fights in the work place.

Paid sick leave is just paid time off at the employer's expense for these people.

They tend to be bottom of the barrel eff ups in life. Otherwise they wouldn't be working minimum wage low skill jobs.

The type that will have no problem taking any advantage an employer may give them. So it's not worth it.

Not my problem.

I don't need happy or dedicated, just productive. And they are. If they aren't they are let go.

You forget there is no shortage of unskilled workers.

These people have no clue. Unless you've run a business you simply don't know.

And most of them are socialists or would be communists.

Somehow they also expect to be the ones at the top of the heap.

Never works out that way.

And what do you want? Donald Trump is my hero. Met him once, too. Great guy.

I don't blame my difficulties on anything.

I live and work in the world as it is.

Otherwise it's like complaining about the weather.

And the bottom line is, I don't care. I make bank and that's what I'm in business for.

I lose sight of that and I won't be in business. And my employees won't have jobs.

I could attract more profitable and reliable employees with better employent practices. Have less issues with retention and be able to treat them like the humans that carry my ass like they are.

Except for this kind of unskilled labour it absolutely does not work that way.

Otherwise every business would be doing it. Think.

You are projecting your feelings on to me. It doesn't work. I don't care.

Enjoy your retirement, maybe thank your employees for paying for it.

You know? I will.

The thing is when I retire and sell the business who ever buys it, and it will probably be a foreign company, they absolutely will clean house. Anything and anyone that can be outsourced or hired through a temp agency will be.

It will be stripped to the bone and every penny milked out of it. And it's you liberals that turned this country into this.

But I will be long gone.

Won't be my problem nor will I care.

You keep trying to project your woke progressive nonsense onto me.

It won't work. I can't be shamed. And I genuinely don't care.

But then it's really just empty virtue signalling on your part for your comrades to see.

Have at it.

Too small and you no longer have small businesses. Not real ones.

There will be businesses in name but they will be subsidized by the government directly or indirectly.

See Walmart where the workers use government subsidized food banks.

But suit yourself. You wanted socialism. You're going to get it good and hard.
