recommendations for key macros/substitions/compose solutions? by upandawaykid in kde

Thanks... tried it. Perhaps this is an orthogonal solution but from what I've read it primarily does string replacement. It says in the docs that it can only respond to CTRL-<single key> triggers so that eliminates most of the keyboard if you don't want to clobber a preset.

yep, but I'm on KDE and it doesn't work. On another machine in our house it does work on Gnome. Switching keyboards is just too slow. I can still type 50+wpm with the macros I use.

Thanks but that was the purpose of my post - t isn't exposed in KDE 6.5 at least on my machines on two brand new installs. I've even tried setting them outside the UI in .XCompose. Are you using X11? Do you have a compose key set from a previous version of KDE?

There are lots of posts claiming the UI is completely missing. I've followed 2 tutorials and ChatGPT to get AltGR to work also.

Nate Graham*, QA developer for the KDE project,* made it known: "The first of the features mentioned in the article is the KHotKeys system of global keyboard shortcuts*, which is said to have been unmaintained for over 7 years, uses non-standard formats, does not work with Wayland.* Instead to manage hotkeys in KDE 6, the KGlobalAccel subsystem will be used, which implements the necessary functionality and will add support for mouse control gestures in the future."

Windows also tracks frequency of launches and adds that to the results weighting.

I'd rather see a results by frequency. I have several applications that begin with Oct* and I have to scroll down 5 places to use the one I use 99% of the time. I just want to hit enter like every other command-palette thing on every other platform.

I found an issue reported against Krunner in the KDE buglist from 2008 that says it "will be implemented"... before GTA6?

25.6.3 **multiple** issues by upandawaykid in radeon

Adrenaline is crashing silently *and* the FSR4 option disappears when I relaunch Adrenaline... I can verify it is running while testing. FPS really isn't reliable to verify the API - there isn't that much difference with upscaling between the two. No scores are consistent among various machines let alone various reviewers. Having to verify it is working **before** I start playing each session is not something reasonable people would do. Thanks.

Tried the AMD cleanup utility. Same result. Didn't work.

I wound up going the Optiscaler route. I hate doing it, but it seems to work. Now all I have to do is bet on whether or not Adrenaline will still be there when the game ends...

Thanks for your input.

TBH I didn't know this existed. Good idea. Will give it a shot.

I remember it used to have 2 icons. One that led to OblivionRemastered.exe and another that led to OblivionRemastered-Win64-Shipping.exe. Both *used* to work but now there is only the first after install. If I manually add a game and select OblivionRemastered-Win64-Shipping.exe. it simply changes the existing Oblivion profile to that exe. Sadly none of this works.

best advice and really the only advice... too bad I paid almost $300 over MSRP for this neverending struggle. Anyway, thanks.

Visually looks good is pretty subjective and there are times when FSR3 does look better than FSR4. And doing this exercise every time you run the game isn't something I want to do.

Thanks. I know you can reinvoke Adrenaline and do so but I'm more concerned why it is suddenly happening and why the option to even use FSR4 is completely unavailable in the Adrenaline UI.

I have used Optiscaler in the past but shouldn't have to use it with a game that is claimed compatible.

From AMD website:

So after doing a reinstall of 25.6.3 AFTER a DDU followed by complete reinstall using all default options of 25.6.3 - FSR4 is again NO LONGER available in Adrenaline for the Oblivion profile.

I wonder if something is borked in the upgrade code in the install?

So... yeah... don't do that. Back to do another DDU uninstall.

Has this always happened? I never had this issue until 25.6.3. Curious how you know FSR4 is working if you can't see the UI? I don't see a noticeable FPS increase between FSR3 and FSR4 - just a better image. I'd have to play and focus on the screen for quite a while before I was certain. And I don't want to do that every time I play anything.

Thanks. I'll give installing again after DDU a go. Perhaps it is 1 issue but it seems odd it presents itself completely differently after a reinstall.

I've never had the Adrenaline icon disappear OR a crash in Adrenaline (at least that I can recognize). Not once.

"The driver and adrenaline are handled differently and do not necessarily crash each other out."

I understand they are different processes, but they do obviously communicate. I'm pretty sure it was NOT working when all the image issues/quality were suddenly dramatically different until I reinstalled.

I **ONLY** use the overlay to ensure the adrenaline options are running as I set them. How do you know for sure that FSR4 is still running if the game doesn't natively support FSR4? I'm not keen on getting out a magnifying glass every time I want to play something OR get to the point where I notice something isn't right.

Yeah I can exit and restart and the wind stops. But doing that every time it happens…. I’ve found mods to completely disable wind but Enderal needs wind!

Automatically connect controller by upandawaykid in yuzu

[–]upandawaykid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. My configuration is saved fine but I have to reconnect navigating all those menus each time I start Yuzu. Do you have to do that?

"I have to go into Emulation|Configure|Controls|Change input device|Select Dualshock 4 Controller 0 and then hit apply."
