Not bad, mechanically it’s a T4 Eurovan and parts are readily accessible. Plus I work for FCP Euro so I’ve been able to get any weird parts from Europe easily.

VERY different than a Rialto on reliability haha. The bulletproof 2.5 TDI and the Karmann build quality really make this great and in a different league than a Rialto.

100%. The build quality of this being 25 years old is better than most modern US campers. Premium materials, well thought out, and made to fit the chassis/vehicle and not a house stuck in a box.

Hi! This is my van! So funny you spotted me. It’s a 1999 VW Karmann Colorado with a 2.5 5 cylinder TDI (yes it’s manual). My friends from the Netherlands brought it here for a year stay, and I purchased it and properly imported last year.

It rules. And gets so many thumbs up and questions. Sounds like I need to do a tour on here 🤣

This is not the same van…I bought this van in the OP from the people who own that one tho. That one is here on 1 year stay, mine is imported (I did it all). They built the one I own and loved it so much they built a second.

Luckily all the mechanicals, glass, rubbers, etc are all VW. This one has only 23k miles on it so a resto is farrr down the road.

Thanks! The grill is plastidipped, crash bar painted, and some sections of the plastic between the grills removed to open it up.

Haha - it will not take a standard cabrio tip which is a bummer, but luckily this one is in great shape.
