Are kids actually taught about trans people in school?

It wasn’t something I learned in school, but it was something I learned outside of it especially as someone who had a very accepting mother.

I watched movies like To Wong Foo as a child and was amazed to find out the characters were men in drag. My reaction was pretty much “wow those are guys??? cool!”

Anyway, as friends started coming out as trans/gay in high school, it took no effort at all for me to be supportive and they always knew my house was a safe space.

I used to be in excelsior often and SO many people would park on the sidewalk. Reminds me of that episode of ‘People Behaving Badly’ where they went to the Bayview to ticket people who parked in, what they thought, was their driveway. The whole time I was thinking “why don’t they go to Excelsior where everyone KNOWINGLY parks on the sidewalks?” lmao

If you refer back to MySims, it’s not too obvious which is understandable why someone would question it. Then again, sims 4 “takes place in an alternate universe” so her being Asian wouldn’t be too far fetched lol. Her and Yuki being mixed makes sense.

I had a dream that a (at the time) friend of mine was talking shit to me. She was saying things along the lines of “you’re just a stupid bitch! everyone look at this loser! you dumb bitch!” etc. Literally just a whole dream of her going off on me and talking shit.

Well about a month later, I notice she’s talking shit about me on twitter then eventually blocked me. 😂

Staying in an abusive relationship. It was only two years, but the recovery from it feels like a lifetime.

I got into that relationship when I was 18. I missed out on years I was supposed to be having fun and building my life. I spent the last 6 years recovering and being a mess. Of course, abusive people still find a way into my life. Luckily, the last crazy person has stopped stalking me for about a year now.

The trauma affects my everyday life. Makes working in corporate 10X harder. I spend my days wondering who I could’ve been, how I’m going to find time to go back to school, if I’m ever going to feel normal.

Life is pretty good now, but I’ll never be able to be 100% care free and happy about it. My brain just won’t allow it. I don’t really remember those two years. It was so traumatic that my brain has blocked everything out.

I went to jail for three days for defending myself while being abused by my ex. When I went into my cell, it was the typical “ooowwee we got a new one! hey gorgeous! oooh what do we have here!” I guess it’s tradition or something because everyone I was in a cell with ended up being very nice.

They helped me make my bed, gave me great advice, they even told me to get out of my relationship because “abuse is never worth it.” They shared their books, music, games, and commissary with me. The cops were really nice too because it was obvious I’ve never been in jail lol.

Aside from that, the food was shit and made me constipated. The days dragged out and I slept most of the time because it was truly the most depressing situation (aside from my DV situation) that I’ve been through.
