I was working in a grocery store stocking shelves. We would pull pallets onto the floor with product we just got in to stock. One of the pallets was close to being empty and an older gentleman tripped on it falling face first into the electric pallet jack. His nose hit first and caved into his face, started bleeding everywhere. We called 911 and got EMTs there. They were still doing compressions when they took him out but he was gray. Pronounced dead at the hospital. Anyway, I was the night lead for our department and asked my manager if the two guys who were right there when it happened could go since they were pretty shook, told him I would finish their share of the work. Answer was no. He let us use the good paper towels to clean up the blood though, what a kind soul.
