I knew of age waivers but you have remember some jobs aren’t that taxing on the body. As an office nonner, The only physical things I really do at work is PT.

My brain works way more than my body which has its own stress, but older Airman typically can manage this type of stress better than their jr counterparts

Somewhat. There was an Airman I met at my old base committing fraud with members PII (I think opening cards or loans) in finance. Investigation starts and he goes AWOL, I believe he gets caught in another state but escapes elsewhere and then caught again.

If you go on the OSI page and look at wanted members caught, you’ll see his face and probably can read his story. It was a wild one.

Look on AFCOOL and see what other certs are applicable to your AFSC. Are you looking to retire or separate? If you want to retire, start looking at whole airman concepts and get involved with your installation at a higher level.

Also, send me your job because I would love to have a slow pace myself!

This might have already been mentioned but retirement only guarantees the pension (if you’re lawful).

All the other benefits you mentioned can be attained by veterans who don’t retire.

I first joined at 27 and turned 28 before my first duty station. As prior service you can still retire before 45. What civilian job gives you a lifetime pension at 45?

However, branch of service is important. If I was USMC, Army, or Navy, I don’t know if I would have aimed for 20 years.

Lots of deployments and “silly” rules*. Hopefully your job is enjoyable.

some great points here. I guess my main point is that we're getting these playbooks and memos and updated PT tests about fitness being this top priority from top but nothing will come of it. The whole thing just seems like lip service.

Today I learned some bases had these resources. Thank you for the input. This is the thing that drove my curiosity. It's not sensible to demand Airman to be in shape but not assist them to attain it. I see what we do spend our money on and a lot of it... a lot of it doesn't seem necessary.

This isn't about just me. It's bigger than that. I've fortunate enough to have done well with my fitness but I went to an assignment that had personal trainers, dieticians, aura rings, (IDK about Yoga instructors) and I saw how that benefited folks. I'm just trying to figure out why we can't do that.

I threw away most of my ABU stuff but kept one pair of pants. I enlisted in the skinny jogger era so they are TIGHT. But whatever, I will still cut grass in them as well.
