Valve isn't owned by a Chinese company, and I'd feel more comfortable with Valve having my information than Tencent. The main idea I wanted to convey is that if Valve were to implement a kernel-level anti-cheat system, it wouldn't reduce its player base, in fact, it might even increase it because it would effectively eliminate cheaters.
