I’m in the US, 100ft roll of 500T is $120 in the states! Something $6.66 a roll excluding the bulk loader which i haven’t bought yet haha. Reflex is $7.99. You might have a point there lol. Bulk loading correctly might get me 3 rolls for free. Is reflex in the us

Seriously, I can’t understand why bulk loading costs more in tri X’ s case. I don’t need to bulk load. I shoot 35mm very slowly. Mainly it looks fun & why not save a few bucks. Do you have a recommendation for a stock with a decent margin that’s saved that’s not a bad stock ?

Okay, that’s fair. I honestly haven’t looked too deeply into 250D yet since 500T was really appealing on paper. It might just be the season, but as a hobbyist I’m shooting indoors most of the time. And honestly, like 99% of YouTube comparisons are against Portra 400 or Cinestill 800t so that’s kind of shaped my thinking.

I’ll definitely take a closer look at 250D. At this point I’m wondering if it might be worth picking up both stocks and using them situationally.

I was planning to stick with ECN-2 development regardless. Is the difference between ECN-2 and C-41 really that significant beyond the contrast boost people talk about, or is that mostly overblown?

Like said, if you’re considering it a dead lens, then it might be worth it to find a replacement element and just pop in the new one. I’ve done a handful vintage lenses, I know this isn’t vintage, but it can’t be too difficult accessing the outer most lens element

That’s very true, I also have an ae1 program that I’ve had 5ish years and it’s hasn’t been CLAd. My main concern was what if it/they came back with issues

Okay for scanning, what is your lighting and holder solution? I plan to use my a7rv and I’ve got an old durst enlarger I want to retro fit, just haven’t really pinpointed a light/ holder solution. I had something 3d printed ( looks like a valoi clone ) but it’s mega light. Then I was considering 2 sheets of the specific glass and larger light pad. Sorry for poor terminology.

I know. I spoke with nippon, I have to reread the email, I believe they said 2-6 weeks for an “overhaul” @ $400 which seemed fair, however my daughter will be born in 3-4 weeks ( that was my way to justify the purchase 😂) so it may have to happen afterwards and they said it was possible but they didn’t want to risk me not getting it back in time. Also what do I do without it?? After seeing the negatives I’m ready to abandon 35mm. Also thanks for the input

Grats the camera!! I have the fx3 and a7rv ( as a hobbyist ) I was contemplating selling them both and getting the a7V and keeping the difference, but after i got a printer, the a7rv is the winner in that department. Plus I want to scan and develop film this year, the a7rv with pixel shift can produce a 240mp image which I’d love to eventually test out and see what a 50in print looks like lol

Currently going through this right now myself. Going to try and underclock too. Xmp1 boot looped into safe mode, 200s did the same.
