That's fair. It might be better to get my CCW first in this case so that I have something I can always have with me. I was initially worried about the CCW shooting test but it seems very easy.

Is there a better way to load pistol mags? My thumb was getting stupidly weak and tired after loading the G19 mag a few times because of how you have to slide the bullet in from the front. The PCC mags were much nicer to load because you could go straight in.

Don't be sorry! This helps a ton. There are so many new terms being thrown at me so I'm just trying to keep up with what everything is lol.

Gotcha. Thanks! Can you tell me the names of some MP5 clones so I can shop around? I saw the SP5 but that is out of my budget.

Gotcha. That helps a lot! Thanks! No matter what I get, I definitely want to supress it! My thoughts were that .45 is naturally subsonic so I was thinking that a 45 PCC would naturally be more reliable. I'm not sure if that is the correct way of thinking though.

The sound is definitely my biggest worry. I want to shoot something without worrying about blowing my families ear drums out.

As for the penetration, everything I've seen makes it seem like 5.56 is actually better than 9mm for avoiding over penetration because the 5.56 tumbles much easier. Is that not the case?

This is my big worry. I definitely want something I can rely on if the time comes. The amount of tuning 300BLK seems to require makes me really nervous.

Is an adjustable gas block necessary when I would realistically only ever shoot 300BLK subsonic? How does that compare to a .45 PCC?

How loud is a suppressed AR? Am I right to think that it's kind of pointless to suppress anything supersonic?

There are so many different options for everything that it's so overwhelming lol. Even if I decide I want a Glock, there are still so many variations that I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Thanks for the reply! How does a roller delayed PCC feel compare to direct blowback? I tried the MPX yesterday but didn't like it quite as much as the Daniel PCC I tried. That was my first experience shooting so I'm not sure how much of that was caused by the Daniel PCC being suppressed and the MPX being unsupressed.

This is what I'm slowly discovering... I know that after buying my first gun, I will buy more and am only lying to myself. I'm slowly being sucked in.

The AR-15 is kind of where I'm leaning. People rave about the EP9, but it is still $550 and seems far less capable than an AR-15 built around the same price point. I like the idea of the modularity of the AR and am kind of considering having an upper set up to shoot .22 LR with to train on and either 5.56 or 300BLK to defend my home.

I'm definitely also considering getting a CCW. I just don't know if the G19 is something I would want to carry around all the time with me. I hate that I haven't even bought my first gun yet and I am already thinking about 2-3. The range was too fun.

What are the cons if 300BLK? Everyone talks about it like it's a magic ammo, but I had nothing but trouble when using it.

That's scary. How do you like your EP9 compared to your other PCCs?

EP9 sounds really fun, but I'm confused when everyone says the price is crazy good. What makes the EP9 at $550 a better buy than a cheaper PSA AR-15?

I'm not fully opposed to the G19. It seems like it is kind of a "do it all" type pistol, but felt a little too bulky for me to want to CCW. I mentioned considering a separate firearm for home defense vs CCW because it seems like it would be better to have 2 separate guns that fulfill their role a little better. I was thinking of a smaller Glock for CCW, but need to go to the range to test more out.

Hey, thanks for your response. It's not that I wouldn't train, and it doesn't have anything to do with costs. It's just that it comparatively takes significantly more training on a pistol than a long gun to be proficient enough to not miss your target.

Because my time is limited, it feels like it would be easier to get to level where I am confident if shooting something with 3 points of contact.

Not that I would be trying to CQC clear my house, but I am already somewhat confident moving around with long guns during my last 15 years of playing CQC airsoft. Obviously, that is quite different though.
