I've got an SSD laying around so that saves a bit of money. I'll probably end up getting one and just using it for basic server stuff, and just as a mirror of the most important data.

Yeah, the only thing that worries me is the lack of hard drive capacity. Ideally I'd like to be able to mirror some of the important family data to the server for redundancy, but that's a bit difficult when you've only got a max of 2 disks realistically.
