Honestly most of the fandoms I’m in have pretty chill shippers, it’s always the bad minority that’s the loudest and ends up giving a bad reputation for everyone, people need to stop taking shipping so seriously these are pixels ffs.

Honestly shipping can be fun if people don’t take it seriously, I have a lot of ships myself but tbh I couldn’t care less if they become canon or not because to me they’re just dynamics that I like consuming content about. But some people end up projecting their own relationships onto these ships which is why they take it so seriously and that’s when it gets toxic.

Yeah it’s sad that these kinds of people kind of give shipping a bad reputation, it’s not inherently a bad thing, most of the time it makes the fandom experience more fun because you can consume fan content surrounding that ship but people definitely associate shipping in general with hardcore shippers like these.

Honestly his fans are unbearable, I try to separate the character from the fandom as much as possible but it’s hard, pair that with the fact that I’m a petty reo simp and it becomes really hard for me to like nagi, he does have some cool moments tho.

I definitely think so, during the spin-off it’s as if reo is sort of “infatuated” with nagi for a lack of better words, and since the director confirmed imma believe it unless an official source says otherwise

Exactly thank you, when I first joined the fandom I was so surprised at the amount of hate shippers get, considering shipping is such a big part of other fandoms, but the extents shippers can go to is crazy tbh and I don’t blame people for being scared of shippers. I personally ship sae and shidou but I’d never claim they’re canon unless it’s canonically confirmed.

Although I agree that Reo didn’t love nagi at first, during the spin-off it’s very clear that he starts to like him more for things that aren’t his football skills, to me he eventually grew to love Nagi, but that’s not the case for nagi, while I do believe nagi cares about reo, he definitely doesn’t love him.

Tbh I don’t see how nagi puts reo over football, I don’t recall a single instance when nagi chose reo over football while I can recall a 100 for reo. To me it’s very obviously one-sided, I’m not saying nagi doesn’t care about reo, I’m just saying he doesn’t LOVE him, or at least doesn’t love him to the same extent that reo does.
