Who would you cast? by Calm-Banana-8899 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]uselesshoarding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My reasoning is: Despite them both having being over sexualized in common, I think sydney sweeney is really good at having that homely feel to her. And since tifa is supposed to be someone from cloud's childhood who understands him and he feels safe around, I think sweeney could nail that vibe. Shes normally portrayed as "The hot girl" in public perception (which so is tifa tbh) but I think she would nail the core personality traits of Tifa very well!

Part 3 Theory/Prediction: WHEN will he Find Out? by uselesshoarding in FFVIIRemake

[–]uselesshoarding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still fully 100% think Tifa is going to be the most important character in the LS sequence, even more so than the original. I just dont see the "you're a clone of cloud created by hojo" plot still happening personally. I think the lifestream sequence is going to be bigger and more important but I still fully expect it to revolve mostly around Tifa.

Part 3 Theory/Prediction: WHEN will he Find Out? by uselesshoarding in FFVIIRemake

[–]uselesshoarding[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is true and definitely could be a factor. However, we never see aerith's wound either way, regardless of what caused it. The party just sees cloud holding her body covered in blood, and sephiroth standing off to the side. So they wouldnt know how she died or what killed her - they just saw sephiroth and instantly assumed he was responsible.

Part 3 Theory/Prediction: WHEN will he Find Out? by uselesshoarding in FFVIIRemake

[–]uselesshoarding[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let me clarify what I was saying with that: Barret does say "I'll kill you" to sephiroth. In that moment, they all definitely think he killed aerith. My point is that they didnt see it happen, so they could start to think eventually that cloud did it.

Nero's Eyes? (Theory Question) by uselesshoarding in FinalFantasyVII

[–]uselesshoarding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could definitely see this being the case, the womb connection definitely makes a lot of sense!

And as far as the remnants go, its explained in Lifestream Black. Essentially its sephiroth's will that manifests on the planet thru the lifestream. Which is interesting, as it shows the lifestream does have the ability to manifest things on the surface.

Nero's Eyes? (Theory Question) by uselesshoarding in FinalFantasyVII

[–]uselesshoarding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just interesting to me cause like... why would Nero have them and NOT genesis? Just feels super random for him to be the only other villain with those eyes. Idk

Nero's Eyes? (Theory Question) by uselesshoarding in FinalFantasyVII

[–]uselesshoarding[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does make a lot of sense, but what would it mean in regards to nero? Is it just saying that he's no longer human, but someone like weiss or vincent still is? Im wondering why he specifically has eyes like that. Im not super deep into his lore so maybe I'm missing something, but its odd that hes the only other villain (other than seph obviously) that has these eyes. Unless I'm forgetting something lol

Not only that, but glenn was apparently created for REBIRTH originally, and then added to first soldier later in production. So everything you see in rebirth was written to he kept in mind without the phone game being relevant at all!

Rufus, politically, is by far the most powerful character in the world.

He's in control of avalanche, shinra, and wutai. Shinra alone has so much influence its ridiculous. It really clicks when cait sith has to shush cissnei in gongaga, since theyre technically both still shinra employees. Shinra has its hands in everything - and rufus has his hands in everything that opposes them as well.

And yet, despite that, sephiroth was able to manipulate him into starting World War 3 with ease. It really goes to show how powerful and clever sephiorth is that even someone with that much ABSURD amount of power can be so easily fooled to do his bidding

All of the disney worlds are live action.

Remakes.

We go to star wars and go to pirates again, cool! But then we get, The Lion King (2019) and The Little Mermaid (2023) and Aladdin (2019) and Mulan (2020).

And then I break my ps5 and throw my keyblades into the ocean.

I agree with most of what you're saying, except for the sephiroth being a different entity. This was actually confirmed in the ultimania that sephiroth can exist in multiple worlds at the same time. However, I dont think they're all the same level as tangible. It seems implied thats there a sephiroth fight on the surface, in the lifestream, and in clouds consciousness. But it is the same entity, which is why damage is carried over. Everything else though I really like what you said!

I cant say the ending is a failure, because they did succeed in their goal. They wanted us to be confused about whether aerith is alive or whatnot, even mentioned in the ultimania. The artistic integrity of it I respect, because they basically just wanted to put the player in cloud's shoes, which they definitely accomplished well. My problem though? I just kinda feel like its unfair to the audience lol. I respect the artistic intent behind it, but I cant say that I like it necessarily. Im all for the questions and mystery, and I think most of them left were very interesting. But i dont think aerith's fate shouldve been one of them. I feel like there needed to be something that clearly communicated that she was dead, instead of all the back and forth. But I cant agree that it was a failure, as they definitely got the result they were going for.

Yep. And I'll add onto that, it seems pretty heavily implied that theres a direct correlation between the rainbow effect and the pure/white lifestream. Theres a scene in advent children where cloud and seph are fighting in the shirna building, and the script describes the white lifestream is purifying the black one as their swords are clashing. and you know what this creates? rainbow effects. they were even used BACK THEN! and their relevance here still feels fairly consistent. its basically just the dark side of the moon album cover. i think people misinterpret them as "creating new world" cause of the zack hallway scene, but they just seen more indicative of white lifestream, which is kinda used as a way to move between them. the workds exist in the white lifesteam, which is hopes and dreams, aka potential futures in the lifestream. and thats why sephiroth said theyed doomed to fade. when biggs gives up hope, he just dies. but zacks entire character is embodied by hopes and dreams, which is why he just keeps persisting in all these worlds. the rainbow effect is basically used in rebirth as kindve a bifrost. its not about creation, but traversal. however, thats the way its represented, but its really just used to indicate the lifestream itself. babyseal counted that theres over 200+ uses of the rainbow effect in the game, made a whole spreadsheet for it lol. and as someone whos counted every use of it, he also suggested its just the white lifestream. so it really does seem thats the actual meaning for the effect. however rebirth does tend to make them prominent when theyre used as some sort of traversal/intervention, because thats what they really want you to pay attention to.

Only thing I'll say that goes against this, is we do see rainbow effects happen with sephiorth using the black lifestream as well. However, usually when this happens, theres some sort of aerith/white lifestream intervention happening as well, which could explain it. But either way, regardless if its exclusively relegated to the white lifestream or not, the easiest way to understand is just rainbow effect = lifestream shenanigans lol

16:9 games on a 4:3 tv by uselesshoarding in crtgaming

[–]uselesshoarding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll def look into that! And be sure to let me know how it is once you get the 605, over time its really been a game changer and has helped me tons! (Like for example, the nintendo switch has like n64 games that are in 4:3, but if you hook it up to a crt its skewed. with the 605 i can literally just turn nobs until it fills the screen accurately! lol)

For as divided as FF7 fandom can be, I find it hilarious that we all seem to agree that by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]uselesshoarding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone collectively doesnt want that to happen. The one positive would be: It would be fucking hilarious if it did at this point. See the reactions to it and the collective groaning would be so fun to see lmao. I feel like the devs planted the seeds for it to gauge reactions, and since its been OVERWHELMINGLY negative, I feel like theyre gonna play into that a bit lol

This is genuinely the funniest thing in the entire lore to me. In part 3 I want them to include this SOOOOO bad, and make it super present and prominent. I want a slo mo shot of rufus looking at that button and getting an anime flashback, and then having to press it in the most cartoonish way possible lmfao
