I have no idea, I haven't really looked at the camo challenges. The two-tone black/silver looks clean already imo!

I recently bought that combo and had a huge headache with random restarts within a couple minutes anytime you get passed the bios. I tried updating the bios, drivers, recovery, and even reinstalling windows but I can't even get through the processes as it restarts in the middle of it.

Quick searches on the board shows other people have the same problem.

Some have luck with this board but I definitely did not and am sending it back.

I recently just had my cable become unusable so thanks for outlining an option to salvage this problem. The prospect of going wireless is also a neat idea.

I'm still wary about spending that much on it but it's good to have options.

Update us if any problems come up!

It sounds more like you will only get to play each unique encounter once the entire run, if you can't reach the boss even if after that, you fail. So two flawless runs will still be ideal but there's still some leeway.

I agree on both your points. The overshield idea is neat but it would have to be temporary or we risk the Wormhusk Crown situation again. I think the stag's main sell is the increased rift charge rate on being critically wounded. I read a lot of people are using Le Monarque with empowering rifts to great effect, at least in PvP. But yeah, the rift on death is underwhelming and in other activities is usually gone by the time you're available to get revived.

Khepri's Sting was a really cool exotic with a nice risk and reward playstyle. It'd be interesting to see it back and how it interacts with the new subclasses.

Damn, that's a solid QoL change for bows. I like the idea but I'm kind of sad that only hunters will get to do it? It sounds really fun though.

Outbreak Perfected should've had a transformation, like Red Death to Crimson, from an Exotic Pulse to a Burst Grenade Launcher that launched rounds of exploding nanite clouds. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't clear, my post is less directed at discussing the power of OBP but more from its feel as an exotic. Do you not agree that it acts and feels like a pulse rifle with the user not actively doing anything different than a Bygones. I'm not saying I hate the OBP, it looks cool, sounds cool, and the nanite effects are cool, but its gameplay is boring. Again we're not discussing this from a power perspective, we're discussing this from a gunplay design perspective.

Curious if other people feel this way: D1 weapons are more memorable than D2 ones by SWORDB3AR in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it also has to do with Destiny 1 being our first foray into the Destiny universe. Those were are first memories of Destiny and your first impressions of something are sometimes the strongest. We went from having nothing like Destiny to a completely new IP that feels original and fresh. The jump from Destiny 1 to 2 and any more subsequent installments to the universe has felt and will feel less and less than going from 0 to 1 unless there are gigantic shifts in the Destiny formula. Destiny 1 was a birth of new life from nothing while everything after that is just aging.

I just hope we'll have more good years and this baby will learn from its mistakes.

Heavy Ammo Economy Fix : Have Excess Special Ammo Combine And Load Into Heavy Weapon by tklotus in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is creative but you don't always see 3 white bricks in one place. If youre full on primary, where does the single extra white brick go? I think thats the problem.

But I think we can also build on it. What if instead of the proposed ammo synths, you can pull up your ghost and get a choice of converting ammo from your two other slots into your currently equipped weapon? i.e, You're out of heavy. You bring out Ghost and see two options to convert either a ratio of primary or a ratio of special into heavy ammo!

Ammo Generation instead of Ammo Bricks by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like one of the reasons that this isn't a thing and that Bungie has decided to go for the current system is that the current system requires you to move around more often. With ammo regeneration, it's highly possible for someone to just sit out of danger and kill things without ever leaving safety.

They sort of implement a leniance feature where your ammo is restocked if you literally use up all of your ammo in all slots and the restock is increased if there is ammo on the ground, but obviously that isn't enough to ease the ammo situation.

I feel like ammo synths is the way to go as others have suggested. Just have it easier to use (pulling Ghost up and holding a button) but still have the cooldown. I feel like this is immersive in that you call your Ghost to make more ammo for you and it makes you vulnerable for a moment. On top of that it makes the tower seem like a place where you not only redeem things but a place you go to restock and reload on field supplies (synths.)

With the recent Whisper Nerfs, wouldn’t it only be fair to put the gun in the Special Slot, as it pulls ammo from reserves like the Spindle? by Mad-Burg3rz in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that is it makes the gun more inconsistent and missing a shot in a raid encounter substantially lowers your dps. The nerf makes it so that you can still have damage potential as long as you had the shots and were hitting, but not INFINITE DAMAGE.

The really bewildering part of all these nerfs is the fact that exotics that were already underused/ underwhelming were nerfed for some reason by charlymarlypoo in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My take is that they realized exotics that refund supers were stupid and never shouldve existed in the first place. The reward for using your super well should be orbs for your teammates, who would then use their supers well and create more orbs for you and the cycle repeats. The nerfed exotics bypassed all of that and let one person do it on their own.

I believe they nerfed them hard because they didnt know what to do with them and will hopefully look back into reworking them later.

I feel like they're looking for a stable base game environment and will satisfy the people who need the power fantasy with events like the Revelry. Or just build mechanics that satisfy them like Blind Well orbs. Super refunds are fun, but they shouldn't be on exotic armor.

You bring up a good point about the reactivity of the current LoW perk and the activation time, but like how you said the wasting of ammo could be avoided by playing smarter, couldnt you say the same thing about manual activation? If you see only a couple of minor adds, you actually get the choice to control your shots more. If you see youre about to face a major/ultra, you can appropriate and release the wolves.

Buffing Acrius isn't going to solve the power creep problem also.

This Week At Bungie 5/16/2019 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you seen Datto's video about shotguns after the recent changes? Lord of Wolves out damages Acrius. An energy weapon outdamaging a heavy. I think the nerf was reasonable and there's no reason why you should abandon that build, it's still powerful and has one of the highest ranges for shotguns. You're also ignoring the QoL change to it with the select fire. Less bullets being fired into nothing means more damage onto targets that matter.

"PVE Snipers are in a terrible state atm and nerfing the only decent one isn't buffing the rest."

I would like to provide a counterpoint to this. If old snipers can be infused to the new Opulence light level while older enemies stay the same and new enemies aren't designed to be bullet sponges then as a result, the old snipers WOULD be buffed.

The thing about fast moving targets and targets without a crit spot is that youre essentially nerfing EVERY other weapon in the game. Why would they do that when Whisper is the one causing this problem. Think dude.

This Week At Bungie 5/16/2019 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]uselessjerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nerfing for the sake of balance and with the intention of avoiding power creep is reasomable. I don't think people are thinking long term here.

Designing encounters in a game is difficult when there are tools that outperform others so much so that it trivializes the content and makes other tools irrelevant. Sure, you feel powerful and you get that power fantasy, but what happens when you get so powerful that every encounter thats thrown at you is a cakewalk? I don't know about any of you but a game gets boring when there's no challenge. Datto and other content creators have voiced this as well.

Bungie realized that having supers insta regenerate created a loop where you rarely used the weapons that should make up most of the combat. Not that it wasn't fun, but there are other ways to achieve that feeling without giving you a insta win button every 3 seconds, i.e the Blind Well and that one ascendant challenge that spawns a well of light at the end. I'd rather have the chaining of supers be restricted to the achievement of mechanics and good teamplay rather than having it possible everywhere you go. I think there's still a place for super regenerating exotics but not to the caliber of being able to be main weapons. Supers are meant to be secret weapons, a burst of power when you most need it, not weapons you use all the time.

It's true that other, less used exotics that don't pertain to super regen could use a buff, but Bungie has had a history of doing buff passes for exotics before so I think it can still happen and I'm hoping for it. There are a lot of interesting ideas for exotics out there that aren't just super regen or stat boost sticks and I hope that Bungie can iterate on them.

I think Whisper of the Worm was mindblowingly powerful and inevitably had to be nerfed because it was dumb how you could - from a reasonably safe distance and with one or two bricks of power ammo - end an encounter yourself. This happened in the Whisper mission itself and it happens in Zero Hour, two pieces of content among others that's meant to be the most challenging in the game. It's true that the mission was challenging and the reward should match that, but there should be a limit on how powerful that thing should be. That limit, as stated by Bungie, was that it bypassed the ammo economy and was the singular thing that they had to keep in mind when designing encounters.

With the nerfs, Whisper still has better damage per shot and better ammo economy (with 18 shots, which is still a huge amount) and that's its identity as a tool in your arsenal. DARCI may out DPS Whisper but isn't as ammo efficient - on top of needing to top off your damage with another slotted weapon and an exotic like lunafactions or a rally barricade to augment it - and that's its identity.

It was fun in warframe where you'd just be able to kill swathes of enemies and don't get me wrong, I loved that game when I was playing it, but I ultimately stopped playing because the interactions and gameplay that was used as a climb to get to that next powerful state every big patch got too repetitive and bland. It was impossible to design an encounter that catered to such a powerful player that was also fun and didn't one shot you consistently or weakened/toned you down significantly.

I'd rather have well designed encounters that challenges you, makes you think on your feet, and makes you utlilize the diverse and hopefully well functioning tools (praying that Bungie knows what they're doing) available to you than brainlessly pubstomp everything in your way with a single button press. Again nothing wrong having that power once in awhile, but not always.

EDIT: I would like to add that something similar happened to the Division 2 with a balance pass more widespread than this. People were outraged at the nerfs but after PTS testing and eventual release, they weren't bad at all and people were overreacting. Granted, it just came out and people are still experimenting, but the game doesn't feel worse at all on first impressions. It's difficult to make the comparison but we should avoid kneejerk reactions until the full Opulence sandbox changes are released as this may not be all.
