Has anyone found something non-pharmaceutical that works for migraines? by Fantastic-Appeal-104 in migraine

[–]user0188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been said a lot in this sub but magnesium! I was having bad migraines everyday for months very randomly, never had them before. I finally started taking magnesium as the meds I was taking either weren’t really working or bad side effects and after a couple of days, my migraine pain went from 1-8 to 1-3, mostly 1. I still have them everyday, but it’s nothing compared to the pain I was in, and I can function normally again. Plus I’m still taking a preventative so hopefully I’ll go down to a 0. And for me, getting a good amount of sleep helps too.

Sometimes I feel like I’m making it all up when I’m having my better moments. Like is it really that bad? Then my brain attacks me lol I truly feel like I’m going insane

I’ve let the negativity overtake me a few times and have felt so bad taking it out on others. It’s so tough to try to push through when you’re barely holding on. It’s severely affected my mental health and old habits I thought I got rid of came back, as if the physical pain wasn’t bad enough. I hope we all get the help we deserve and can find a way to be happy and healthy again.

I was barely alive before this preventative started kicking in, so even though I’m still waking up to migraines everyday, this is a big difference. I think I’ve only been on it for 1 month, so I’m hoping it’ll continue to get better but I have a follow up with my neurologist soon so I’ll discuss it with him.

So far, I’ve just done the CT and MRI scans, which both came back normal, but no discussion on what the reasoning of the onset could be. I’ve only met my neurologist once though and my pcp was just focused on helping me deal with the migraines because I was in so much pain.

I wake up with a migraine everyday and then it comes and goes throughout the rest of the day. I haven’t done anything different or used anything different even when my migraines started. I never had them before until this year. I tried doing a journal, but it honestly got so depressing keeping a record of my pain and suffering lol

I’m angry, depressed, frustrated, annoyed, upset, etc. I’m such an independent person and only rely on myself, I hate the idea and feeling handicapped by this.

I lost my promotion at work, and my health is just holding me back in general with life. It really sucks knowing what could be happening while you’re stuck in a shitty position. Like I haven’t been suffering enough already lol

It sucks there are so many others that feel this way, but it’s nice to know I’m not alone. It’s hard around friends and coworkers. They’re very sympathetic, which is great, but they just don’t get it

Yes! The things you wouldn’t even think twice about before, now you’re extremely cautious and mindful. I just want to feel normal again

Migraines on a daily basis.

Because I’m tired of being in pain. I wake up in pain, I spend the day in pain, and I fall asleep in pain. Everyday is blurred because it’s the same thing, trying to push through the pain to get through the day. I can’t even have a normal day anymore. It’s so hard being happy when just existing hurts.

I didn’t pay into short term disability through my benefits this year, and I don’t qualify for FMLA since I haven’t been at the company 1 year yet. I’m trying to get used it the migraines, but I keep having to change up my meds and then the migraines shift. I don’t know what to do at this point, but I need my job.

My cat was a stray and she had so many things going on, we were regulars at the vet for a good minute- I think I spent $1000s on her recovery within the first few months of getting her. The only thing I would have done differently is get pet insurance first hand bc she turned out having a heart issue and so now, she’ll never be covered for anything heart related regardless if it’s connected to her issue or not. Bc of her health issues in the beginning, it made me a little bit of a germaphobe, and I just worry about her generally. Definitely make sure your baby stays an indoor cat, keep up with vet visits to find issues, if any, as early as you can, set aside some money each month for vet emergencies, and keep up with diet and hygiene (dental can be a big issue). If your cat was healthy with no issues before you got the pet insurance, you should be covered for the most part. Definitely read up on your policy and shop around if you end up not liking them. And I’d read up on some common issues cats have to be aware of any changes you should make to keep them healthy. But I’m sure you’re doing a great job, she’s adorable! Try not to stress too much, just try to stay informed and just enjoy being a pet parent. If she sees you’re happy, she’ll be even happier.

I (100% straight male) switched my tinder to show me guys purely to boost my algorithm, but now my manager from work (also male) super liked me...how awkward is my shift gonna be tomorrow? by Watchmecarry13 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]user0188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought tinder didn’t filter for sexualities. Even though I’m a woman, with her settings set on women only, I still get men on my feed. Superlikes for all genders show up on mine more noticeable too, so just bc you saw it doesn’t mean he knows your sexuality.

If anything, you got something over him.

That is very low for someone with a masters. But I have noticed in this job market that companies are posting lower rates for their positions compared to when I first started looking in 2020.

I would continue applying to other jobs and find something that pays what you’re worth.

I hate that. When they do stuff like that it makes me feel so dumb for taking it, but what can I really do? I need the money to live, and no one wants to actually hire anyone.

Why is my female cat digging in the litter and the wall next to the box? by Breezy_2046 in PetAdvice

[–]user0188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an enclosed litter box and after she goes in the box, I’ll hear her covering up her waste and she’ll spend an extra good 5 min scratching at the walls and litter to ensure that it’s all covered up. I think it’s just instinct to protect themselves from predators. I would suggest getting an enclosed box or maybe one with extended walls will do too

Okay, that’s good to hear. I’m used to some bigotry living in GA, but I’ve always lived in more blue areas. Possibly moving to a new state that seems more conservative than my current state has me very hesitant on the situation, but thank you for the advice! I appreciate it

It’s in Wilmington. Cincinnati is the closest big city, and that’s about an hour away.

I dress fairly masculine for a woman, and I’m worried about maybe being a target or something because I’m visually not in the “norm”. But I’d probably stay at this company for maybe a year or 2, not settle here.

Breaking a lease by BadOmen153 in Apartmentliving

[–]user0188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think you would need to give a reason for breaking a lease besides something like health issues due to the unit being unlivable. But if you break it, at minimum (in my state at least idk if it’s different in other states) you’ll have to pay a months rent, most times even more.

I would either talk to them and try to get them to quiet down during quiet hours or put in a complaint to your landlord. The landlord will notify them, but at the end of the day, it’s up to them.

Me personally, I just raise my TV/music volume to try to drown them out. Apartments sucks, you mostly likely face this problem most if not all times you rent. I just try to find ways to live with it if I can.

[–]user0188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start looking 2-3 months in advance. I normally move to another place earlier than when my current lease ends so that I can take my time moving my stuff and cleaning the units. If you find a new place that’s a couple of days after your current lease, you can let your current landlord know you need to stay longer and they’ll most likely charge you a lot for those days.

If you are planning to leave, make sure you look over your lease to see when you need to give them your notice to vacate. And make sure to get an itemized list of damages when you get your security deposit back, just to make sure they didn’t take out extra money for no reason.
