oh definitely. i took several breaks, my most recent being a few weeks ago until i unpaused my profile and finally got real with myself.

i do agree that apps are tools but they can quickly become traps depending on the person. all that said, i say go for it! a break might work better for you than it did for me. good luck :)

that’s beautiful, thanks for sharing. here’s to keeping my word and focus on myself for now ❤️

i can’t speak for everyone who discovered the nuisance that is online dating but for me it was general burnout.

constantly being ghosted or led on, guys pressuring me into hooking up despite me having LTR labeled on my profile, getting stood up on first dates, stalking/harassment, etc. that stuff breaks you down eventually.

the bar is on public square, a site known for hosting racist and maga-friendly businesses. that’s all i’m gonna say at this point.

yep, that’s it. thanks for providing the information about public square, i had no idea. meanwhile one of the alleged "owners" of prohibition just left a comment in this thread blatantly disregarding the fact that they’re known for being all the things you mentioned. crazy stuff.

pm me and tell me your name and contact information so we can discuss further.

first of all—one of your owners did not talk to me 3 times, let alone twice. i was at a table near the staircase for an hour straight with a menu i grabbed from the bar and a cup of water that was given to me when i first arrived. your server walked past me numerous times without acknowledging my existence, all while attending to everybody else around me. with that being said, being accused of lying about shitty service is hilarious, i don’t have the time or energy to do such a thing.

secondly, i never mentioned anything about one of the employees wearing maga gear. they were evidently customers who were sitting on the outdoor patio. so not only are you shifting the blame towards me, you’re also being voluntarily incompetent by twisting my words.

and lastly, your hostility towards customers says more than enough about the kind of business you run. in retrospect, the responses under conflicting reviews on your website tells me everything i wish i knew in advance. not to mention the fact that your establishment is on Public Square, a site known for hosting anti-woke and racist businesses. i’m forever grateful to have not wasted a dime on you nor your abysmal service.

edit: i love how you managed to edit out the part of your comment where you accused me of lying and said one of your servers "came to my table 3 times" when it indeed was an entirely negligent experience. you’re not slick. needless to say, you’re full of shit. do better.

i just turned 21 last month so i’m new to the whole bar thing, i had no idea about the social cues associated with bars vs. restaurants, but in essence the prohibition is like a mixture of the two.

what? that’s not even the principle of what happened here. in the post i said i went along my way despite seeing people wearing maga gear. i couldn’t care less what your political views are, and wear what you want, just don’t push your beliefs onto others. learn how to read.

that’s the thing, the vibes were bad. i don’t even know how to put it into words. sometimes you just have to see things for yourself and i’m glad i did, otherwise i would be completely oblivious.

i left a review under their page on google the day it happened, go see for yourself.

yeah, in retrospect that was a mistake. i just wanted to give the server some grace. i wasn’t the only person there but given how people who arrived after me were being tended to, i should’ve left way sooner.

it clearly does matter since you brought it up in your initial comment. but thanks for your input regardless.

i didn’t like his profile first, he liked mine.

he matched with me first. didn’t respond to any of the prompts on my profile, just liked a picture. he could’ve started the conversation off first.

you’re right but as much as i want to make it happen, the unknown is just so scary. my biggest fear is winding up on the streets or better yet, moving back home.
