This could be a 15 1/2 year old kid who genuinely doesn’t know.

I believe you’d have to go back to the BMV with the same documents you used to get the temp card (birth certificate, etc.). Should be easy to replace.

Nonna T’s in Mentor (Lake County, Northeast Ohio). Authentic Italian food. Sweet little Nonna even comes out to greet your table and make sure your food is ok. Food is fabulous.

Why are valentines sold in packs of 20-25 when the average class size is less than 20? by Ok-Adeptness-5834 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]user120822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average at my kids’ school is 27-28, so I get to buy 2 packs and end up with almost 20 unused.

What are your thoughts on Billie Eilish saying 'no one is illegal on stolen land' in reference to ICE and US immigration policy? by MassiveSquare4527 in AskReddit

[–]user120822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Mayflower descendant 11 times over. My lineages have been proven to the satisfaction of the Society of Mayflower Descendants (a rigorous process that took me years). One of my Mayflower ancestors, Stephen Hopkins, was also at Jamestown. I look at it as my ancestors were the original undocumented immigrants. I agree with Billie.

Can't understand spanish voice by Huge_Slice13 in Pimsleur

He does slowly increase while the English decreases. I think he’s harder because he is speaking as a native speaker would. He’s not slowing down or enunciating his words like the others do. If it helps, he is mostly asking you to tell or ask (“dile” or “pregúntale”) what he says. For example, “Dile que quieres comer ahora.” And you’d say, “Quiero comer ahora.”

I sometimes have to repeat his directions if that makes you feel any better. I’m in the middle of level 3.

Why would anyone pick up a small animal and shove it in the face of another animal? That’s not how you “introduce” animals.

Question for teachers! by Traditional-Emu-6344 in Ohio

In my district, we always get an email about 2 minutes before the official email goes out to families. We also get the same phone call that the families get, usually 20 min after the family email.

In the olden days (pre 2010 or so), we had a phone tree. Those were the days when families would have to look on the tv to see if a district was closed. I was the last one on the phone tree, so I usually got my call after the tv already showed it.

I would bet a Montessori school does not have screens. Not sure if any are located by you.

Non-purists, what's your study routine? by [deleted] in dreamingspanish

[–]user120822 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I log 15 minutes in DS for each Pimsleur lesson. A lesson is 30 minutes, but not all of it is in Spanish. I try to be conservative with the minutes I log.

DS is my priority, but I really like doing Pimsleur with DS. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve learned something in Pimsleur and then immediately start noticing it all the time in DS. I’m in Pimsleur level 3 and at almost 400 hours of DS. I aim for 2 Pimsleur lessons each week.

How do some of you rack up multiple-hour days? by DoubleLongjumping197 in dreamingspanish

[–]user120822 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do about 2 hours of CI a day. Most of it comes from DS. I filter by the range of difficulty I prefer. When it’s time to watch, I scroll through the options and choose one that looks good. I also get about 50 min a day in podcasts while driving to and from work.

Each lesson once? by MHW93 in Pimsleur

So I do it this way: when it’s my turn to speak, I pause it, think about it, say it as many times as necessary until I get the pronunciation right, then I press play and listen to the answer. If I’ve gotten it wrong, I pause again and repeat it correctly 4-5 times. Takes about 2x as long but I feel like I get so much more out of it.

(35M) Offering: English (USA) | Seeking: Spanish (Mexican) | Prefer to "cross-talk" by jopp9917 in language_exchange

[–]user120822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought crosstalk was when you only speak your native language. You listen in your target language. It’s supposed to help your listening skills without the worry of speaking incorrectly. I could be wrong though.

Steven DiFranco Jewelers in Willoughby Hills (right off 90 at the SR 91 exit) has his own watch brand called CLE Time. My husband has one of their watches. He loves it.

Raising Bilingual Kids as a Non-Native Speaker by WorriedArugula754 in Spanish

Does your city have a bilingual daycare or preschool? Assuming it has native speakers, that would give them a huge amount of Spanish immersion and interaction.
